Rumored UFC Heading To NETFLIX - Leaving ESPN

Does Netflix reveal what kind of numbers PPV events do? And will they reveal the numbers regular events do? How trust-worthy those numbers are will be a different point too I guess

I know they wont tell comedians how many viewed their specials. They'll just say "It did great!"

Obviously to not give away any negotiation leverage in that situation.

I would actually cancel my Netflix subscription if they introduce the additional payment model for PPVs that they use for ESPN and DAZN. The PPV model should die already, people are fine with paying a monthly streaming subscription to watch content, but nobody wants to do that and then pay an extra charge for paywalled events. The monthly costs are getting expensive enough already.

$40 a month would be about half the current price of a ppv. That would be enough of a cut in price for some to subscribe, some still wouldn't. As someone who streams, they'd have to cut it down to about $20-25 at most to get me. I don't care about their library of fights, B grade promotions, grappling events or new stupid reality shows they'll probably create. Shit, I've never even watched a full episode of tuf and never will unless they get Cro Cop on there. Literally nothing less than Cro Cop.
The premium Netflix account is 24.99, with the cheapest at 7.99. I hope prices stay the same, with no ppv

might as well save yourself some money and cancel your netflix account now.

I get all the fight nights on fightpass here in Korea so idk if this will change anything at all for me.

if this is true, i would resubscribe. if we could get all the cards minus the big ones, that would be worth it.

Imagine how watered down cards will get once ufc goes on Netflix and commits to a show a week year round lol

Its rumored to be around 1 Billion a year contract with Netflix...absolutely wild, hope to see a fighter pay increase.
I'd be surprised, I read they're only paying WWE half that for more content that was getting more viewers.

I don't think they'd do PPV it's not their business model, they did Paul Vs Tyson for free.

ESPN was never my friend! Netflix all the way ya goofs.

Netflix is in over a billion homes worldwide. UFC is now bigger than soccer!

Depends, what would that mean in my country, where a cheap sports channel (like 15€ a month) shows every card for no additional money. Just the main card though, still have to get fight pass for prelims.
But if netflix get the rights here too, they would probably make it regular PPVs, expensive and all.

MMA is crazy cheap to watch in most of Europe, I like it that way.

Both are lefty companies. I definitelywatched less events after the ESPN deal. I disliked them being involved with the mma in every aspect.

Maybe Netflix can be pressured to increase fighter pay.
Hates leftists, approves of strong arming a free market pay rate.

I would pay an extra 15 a month for netflix if I got all the events. Ufc and wwe.

Don't project your stup thoughts onto me.

I'm ashamed that ESPN did nothing to improve fighter pay and dislike them for their history of bashing of mma.
