The left always fears a strong man. I mean trump lived a pretty sweet life. He didn't have to be president. He could have continued being a billionaire with his hot wife and not have to endure the constant barrage of attacks on him and his family. He did because he saw an opportunity to help the country. His net worth has actually decreased since his time in office. Meanwhile Nancy Pelosi is worth close to 200 million. These career politicians all get rich in their positions they're crooks. And the left is in meltdown mode because nationalism is spreading world wide. The new Brazilian president who was almost murdered in the streets is another fellow they fear. I have a Brazilian female friend completely brainwashed by the universities. She thinks Bolsonaro is the worst. He's the best thing that happened to Brazil in a while.

Hell, if Gillette made the EXACT SAME AD, but targeted black men, and told them not to do crack and shoot people, and then condescendingly congratulated those few black men who didn't do such things, while still nudging them to maybe step it up a little at the next black dude AGM and get those other black dudes to stop it already, the left would have recognized that for the racist bullshit it would have been.

But take that EXACT PATTERN and then substitute any other group with white men and the left is genuinely (and I mean genuinely, not being intentionally obtuse, or trolling, but GENUINELY) baffled by the negative reaction.
