UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs. de Ridder

Just to Chime in on the Said/Mitchell fight I like Bryce here also. Concerns are Said's front chokes, Bryce at the new weight and the judges could favor the Muslim fighter.

However with Saids frequent kicks amd spinning attacks I think that will leave him exposed to Bryces takesowns. Olivera was able to take Said down off of a spinning attack.

Bryce was able to takedown and control Illia... I rate Illia's wrestling far higher them Said's who was outgrappled by Olivera.

I think Bryce spends most of the fight in top position amd rides out a clean decision.

I also like Asu against short notice Ocha. Might take Bogdan small and also might be small on Mcgee points handicap. All I have so far.

I actually feel comftorable with Said going for chokes vs Bryce as it gives Bryce chances to land on top without hitting takedowns. In a cardio grappling fight I favor Bryce. Striking I give to Nurma. If Nurma beats Bryce decisive enough on the feet he might hit a choke on desperate Bryce.
So far its been a case off people needing to really beat up Bryce to beat him. I actuslly forgot Emmet fight somehow but no way is Said hitting him with one of those.

Said slows down significantly too once the fight hits half way though the second. He has slick subs but doesn't really hit hard. Bryce is a pretty elite grappler and underrated striker, he'll also fight hard for 15 minutes.

I'm playing Ochoa.

I think he has a decision and a ko upside.

Asu got koed by Tagir early in his career, Tagir's one and only ko.

I played his ML because i think his ko and decision are 50/50 probable.

Are you Wiki capping again, or did you actually watch the Asu vs. Tagir fight?

Whether you bet Jose Ochoa or not, Asu's loss to Tagir has nothing to do with whether he'll win or lose this weekend. Two different stylistic matchups, 8.5 years later in Asu's career, and Asu won't lose via exhaustion against someone who isn't a better wrestler and grappler than him like he did versus Tagir.

Ochoa is a far more offensive and destructive fighter than Tagir. He broke after a takedown. Ochoa is going to rip into his body.

Anyone who tapped the Kavanaugh fight knows that fight was a close 50/50 as it gets.

I like Elekana as a big dog. I think he'll have put a bit of size on seeing as he seems to have decided to stay at this division, I think he'll have more gas and I think he's got a nice high kick which I can see him catching Aslan with as Aslan is a bit of an ape who just swings a lot.

I got
Davey Grant
+210
Moneyline

Marcus McGhee
+310
Moneyline

Reinier de Ridder
+120
Moneyline

A parlay 100 bucks to win 2,796.20.

Honestly the only fight I'm worried about is Grant the other two fighters I think win in pretty impressive fashion.

Curious on your read for Marcus McGhee. What do you see happening in that fight?

McGhee +5.5 is -150... Basically just needs to not get finished for it to hit. Yan Rds 2/3 could be a good hedge also

I see him being good enough on the feet to set up easy takedowns to a clear decision win.

  • Bryce and Said are the same height, even though stats list Bryce as being 2 inches taller.
  • Da'Mon is shorter than Davey, even though stats list Da'Mon as being 2 inches taller.
  • Buchecha looks like he'll gas out if he can't get any easy TD and get a finish with that first TD. Looks like a natural heavyweight against a natural light heavyweight who doesn't want to reduce his muscle mass.

Look at their feet

Buday at +250 looks worth a play

If Shara does have staph, then he won't look good after R1 since MAB likes to be in the clinch and do his work against the cage. Shara being mostly a kicker will have trouble in the clinch and if/when he gets tired since he'll need his legs to both move away and kick, but both of those things will fail if he gets tired.

If you're going to bet on Shara, maybe look at the following props instead of betting his -650 money line:
  • Shara R1-R2 +100
  • Shara R1 KO/TKO +260
  • Fight doesn't start R3 -110
  • Shara O60.5 significant strikes

Hey who do you guys think will win the Grant vs Da'Mon fight.

Blackshear. He's pretty consistent performing. His losses are always to very solid guys (Jackson, Bautista, Farid), and he handles the mid to lower level fighters. I think Grant will be a step behind throughout.
