News UFC class action certified!

I think the product won't visibly change much, at all, from the spectator's point of view, and for the fighters (particularly those not at the top) it will be a vast improvement. Add to this Reebok's reign of terror ending soon, and things are looking on the up-and-up.

It'll be better for the ones at the top and much worse for the ones not at the top imo.

On big boxing cards guys in the opening fights are getting about the same as UFC fighters get on the prelims and that's with only about 5 bouts on a card. If someone is the 10th fight on a card they're not going to be getting more than a couple of grand for it under the Ali act I don't think.

I'm all for this but I still find it fucking ridiculous Cung Le is involved, he had like 3 fights in the UFC and was also roided to the fucking gills.

Why's he not making a lawsuit against Coker if he's been criminally underpaid his MMA career? Clearly he's just jumping on this bandwagon for an easy payday.

An Ali act will be a disaster for mma.

Well either way this lawsuit will take years to resolve and I still see UFC coming out on top
A tad melodramatic there, aren't we?

I don't get this shilling for companies thing. Things change all the time and businesses adjust. Are we supposed to cry for car manufacturers because the market no longer wants their old products? I don't get it.

What does this mean for people that aren't in the know?
The UFC will be charging you more but unlike in this past eventually this time some of that extra money will go to actual fighters this time!!! Just not any active fighters only fighters they screwed from the past that they settle this lawsuit with and will be forced to pay. Current fighters you pay to see will continue to get screwed until the greedy shysters are forced to pay them sometime in the future.

Also, no more Dana imported snow pics during Christmas time going forward.

That’s illegal is the point. Illegal and unlawful business practices. That’s why they are being sued. Signing away lifelong likeness rights with no royalties?

I am curious, what have they done that is illegal? Because the lawsuit has nothing to do with criminal charges far as I know........

The Fertitas sold the ufc for several reasons, this being one of them. Head injuries are also another. But yeah if this happens, it can change mma indefinitely, I mean I still think the ufc will be around, they just won’t be making as much money as they are now. Having that financial freedom from before is nice.

You think it's business as usual besides that...? lol

The people advocating fo the Ali act would be the same people complaining when the UFC end up looking like boxing.

What, you dont want the fighters to be protected from immoral business practices and dubious contracts?

Sorry but morality really has no place in business.

Now unfair practices the courts deem unfair or UFC were in the wrong sure, but simple morality is just not something on it's own to really consider. What morals are we going with? Public morality changes all the time, one person morals are not the same as anothers. If you are not breaking the law who are you to say how I should run a business? Should we go with a God fearing church goers morals? How about a fighters morals?

and they have essentially colluded to make sure the biggest wallet doesn't win and keep salaries under control so they can't really test their value on an open market.
They collectively bargained with the players union. Not exactly collusion.
