Islam was trying for subs but JDM was defending well. Mandatory stand up after 60 seconds is ridiculous. Its MMA, not striking under special rulesets. Nothing is stopping anyone from developing better wrestling or training with Dagi's.

Nah. These dagis are abusing the rules just getting takedowns and sitting on top of their opponents.

It's near impossible to stand up against that level of grappler not willing to take any risks to finish the fight. If you try to force it without them creating an opening, you just end up giving up your back.

The rules should put the onus on the fighter on top to take risks and try to finish the fight, not just hold position.

Dummies will say that was boring, or Jack sucks and has always sucked, but that was undoubtedly a very impressive accomplishment from Islam.

Jack survived 25, which is impressive in its own right. To have Islam in a dominant position on the ground for the better part of 25 minutes without getting subbed is something of a consolation prize, I guess.

It’s subjectively boring because Islam could have opened up more. Impressive for both sides but Khabib for instance would’ve flogged the absolute fuck out of JDM there. JDM gets up, ah well we will take him down again. Beat the fuck out of him until he gives a chance to finish the fight.

Tossing someone and landing in a dominant position with a wizzer NEVER works, ever, vs anyone decent. Wtf are you talking about? The entire point of a wizzer is to neutralize their offense, it is never meant to be an offensive move itself. It might work for high school fights or middle school fights, maybe?
