I've made a decent sum when betting against Mexican Mexicans. They're too new to the sport and their best combat athletes are still focused on boxing. Lack of solid MMA training in that country is still a real thing.

It'd be like betting that the US men's soccer team would win the world cup. Yeah, they're at that stage, but our best athletes aren't playing soccer.

The boxing culture may eventually turn into an asset for Mexican MMA, but it's going to be an impediment for a long time before that.
