Why Roberts. I thought he looked incredibly vulnerable to a power puncher last fight.

More weapons for sure. More versatile striking game and he has subs if it gets there. Perry is a one round brawler. Roberts from england. Roberts longer, too.

Near evens it's a no brainer for me

took moose sub +1000 and Osp sub +1150

both guys have the advantage on the ground

I kinda like.. tho not sure how much of an advantage moose has in subs.. unless vitor is tires (aka two mins into the fight)

I still like Perry in this fight, roberts went down with fair ease in r1 in his last outing by steele.

Perry looked so composed and relaxed in r1, its like he shut down the world around him and he just timed and focused on Lim, he also paced himself well, not bad for a ufc debut.

Perry would probably need just one punch to knock down roberts to clinch the round in his favour also.

But ill agree Roberts will be more likely to lock triangles and subs here but his cardio in r3 in his last outing was not so impressive, I think Perry keeps the fight upright and looks to make his flawless record with another big ko.

I know jacare and weidman are beasts but the way they destroyed vitor from top position showed how bad vitor is off his back. I really see this going the same way. Mous has good td's and solid top control

Im pretty sure moose will be looking to grind and wear vitor out

A gnp stoppage is more likely but I dont see moose finishing vitor in the stand up

I'm now coming around to this card, I'm still reeling from last saturday, that one hurt bad. Was thinking off skipping this event to get the bad taste out of my mouth but fuck it. I've been looking at Perry vs Roberts. Just some notes

I like roberts in this one. Perry was having trouble with Lim's reach before he got caught. Lim was also displaying some horrible striking defense, holding his hands low coming in the whole fight.
Lim was also TKO in his previous fight before Perry.
Lim was having early success using his reach and I think if roberts can use his reach he can win this one. Perry will just be looking for that KO the whole fight.
Perry has never been to a round 3 in his career. If Roberts can weather the 1st round I would be very curious to see Perry's tank in the 3rd. That being said Robert looked gas in round 3 his last fight. Roberts also hasn't lose since 2011.

After the last two weekends I think I'm going to hedge Perry by KO just in case. I can't afford to have another weekend like the last two.

I know Tumenov trains in NJ (shame he doesn't go to Henry) but those facilities look like some spartan gym in the Russian wilderness!

Who gives a fuck about if you would hang out with them IRL or not, if you're looking for data / opinion /picks on figths?

No offense, but that seems like a really counterproductive way to look at things
but...hey...damn...I never looked at it like that before. you're right I should be more openminded, I've probably been missing out on a lot in life because of judging people by the way they look. Thanks for opening my eyes. Thank you, very much.

Martins down to -245

Gonna watch some tape today but kind of wish I took Santos at the long dog odds. Feels like i'd need -200 right now to consider parlaying Martins with anything

I wonder if Santos has too much confidence in his striking coming off his performance against Kevin Lee and gets KOd being to aggressive

Well hey, obviously you gravitate to people you share similarities with, but if you just need something from them you deem them competent to providing for you, you should be objective about it. - If you're listening to the show for pleasure, thats totally fine, just be honest about what your goals are.

I mean I don't listen to Luca Fury, but that's because i think he's incompetent and a garbarge analyst, not because his an insufferable little nasally worm who lives in his mothers basement.. If i felt i needed his advice, I would listen to him (Which i did, starting out, even though he was the aforementioned wormy character) until i figured out that he was bad, or at least that I had reached a level where i was superior.

Guys stop with underestimating Vitor's Bjj. Weidman and Jacare have world class ground and pound if you get punched by these men your jiu jitsu falls apart no matter what. It is a different ball game when you get punched. Vitor is BB under Carlson Gracie who is legit as fuck. I don't like Gegards chances to sub Vitor honestly. I am not even sure that Gegard can get Vitor down. Gegard's wrestling isnt close to Weidman's or Jacare's wrasslin.

After watching tape, my beliefs that o1.5 on Santos vs Martins were confirmed. Parlayed this yesterday with o2.5 Pickett/Alcantara and confidence increase.

Also think Santos still has a bit of value, even at +175. Would not touch Martins at all in this fight, even with better odds. Dude throws no output, is just content to wait for counters, and his defense is not very good. Santos has solid standup, a nice jab, his chin is tucked a majority of the time. He can mix it up in this fight, he'll have more output, and has proven with wins over Thiago Santos and Ponz he can take downs bigger guys. I think either way if this goes to the cards, which imo is likely, you're playing with fire betting on Martins cause it could very likely be close with his style and somewhat lacking defense, even if he does defend the tds.

I do wonder why its been so long since we've seen these guys fight though....

How do we know he is just a 1 round brawler?

All of Perry's 8 wins have been by TKO or KO. 6 out of those 8 were in the 1st round, and the other 2 coming in the 2nd round. He has never been to the 3rd round in his career.

Legit question who has jacare and weidman stopped from gnp? And if any did they do it in the 1st round? A bb under carlson who like you say is legit as fuck should not get pounded out that easily in r1. Vitor is fresh in r1 so cardio doesnt come into it. The biggest issue is no magic juice hes a completely different fighter and is he 40 now too? I honestly feel like vitor is quitting these days if he cant blow you out in 2 mins. He actually pulled guard on jacare. Imo that was a clear i want out tactic. Weidman mounted him absolutely effortlessly.

Not to mention this guy acted like a complete Jersey Shore tool before the fight with Lim. It's pretty clear the term 'cerebral' isn't part of his approach to life.

I don't care about belts. Vitor fights like a striker that has no BJJ training. I bet he rarely trains BJJ and mainly focuses on striking. I heavily favour Mousasi in the wrestling/grappling/clinching dept. Mousasi is technical and trains this stuff. Either Vitor lands a KO early or he is done.
