Social U of T Professor Attcks PC Culture, Rejects Genderless Pronouns and the Black Liberation Collective

Wow, reading his twitter -- other professors are after him; calling him a bigot (lefty playbook play Call #1) and he's simply challenging all to public debates (smart)

Kind of proud of my Alma Mater for having profs like this guy still around. Thought for sure UoT would be the first to succumb to all out pc implementation

There is a trans professor at U of T who especially takes issue with him, as "they" insist on being called "they/them".

I just don't see how he wins this war.

No self respecting man or white man would agree to this insanity.

Unless by doing it it helps your own group. It is in black supremacist interests to bash the white man and to get them to surrender power and influence. Just like it is in Muslim interests to vote for liberal politicians who will protect Muslims from criticism and ensure they can bring many of their friends and relatives over into the country they are squatting in and receive generous benefits.

White people are not allowed to look out for each other. I'm not even sure I like this argument when presented in a certain light, since I think this transcends race. There is nothing stopping non-white people from rejecting this nonsense.

Reminds me of the crazy cat lady who told the vet not to refer to her felines by either he or she.

Training is not about what you are, it's about what you know/need to know.
And there is an implicit suggestion that you are currently in need of whatever the training purports to teach you. That is what he's complaining about.

"That disturbs me because if someone asked me to take anti-bias training, I think I am agreeing that I am sufficiently racist or biased to need training."

Hmmm...

"That disturbs me because if someone asked me to get ethics approval for my research, I think I am agreeing that I am sufficiently unethical to need prior approval of my research."

Nope, argument doesn't check out.
I assume he never does continuing education because it would mean he is admitting he is sufficiently uneducated to need training.

Yes, there is a suggestion that he is in need of information. That is not the same as a suggestion of a character flaw. He got all offended and defensive over nothing.

Happy to hear about this. UofT has become an sjw cess pool as of late

Who mentioned anything about character flaws?

The continued war on speech and ideas that do not fall in line with PC ideologues is not trivial and many of us are pleased to see him speak out about it.

U of T is basically like an SJW incubator so I would be surprised if this guy doesn't get in some serious shit. I swear that place churns out "activists" like a damn assembly line. After 1 semester there my girl'scousin went from hipster chick to full on BLM warrior, complete with shaved head and pierced nose. I haven't heard if she "identifies as queerfemme" yet but I would bet dollars to donuts that it's coming.

Are you for real? It's right there in that quote:

"I think I am agreeing that I am sufficiently racist [a character flaw] or biased [also a character flaw] to need training"

Anybody who is familiar with U of T knows how ridiculous this is. They're so Left they should be bringing in Far Right groups to balance it out.

The professor in question is also more diplomatic than this thread shows. He simply wants proof of racism before we start bringing in outside groups. This is because there isn't racism. Although, Chinese people are over represented, but I doubt they think this counts.

Also, he specifically said that he would have a conversation with someone who wishes to be acknowledged as a specific pronoun and he would consider calling them as such if he felt they were not politically motivated.

Is this ethics training going to more resemble education or conditioning? Is it a fact that it's unethical to use language as intended? What knowledge do you suppose this guy lacks, such that providing it to him will suddenly make him see just how evil it is to recognize biological fact?

That's not at all the same thing.

Protests at U of T against the professor. I think the first clips says it all: "He thinks he has the ability to dictate the gender identity of his students", which is an absurd strawman of his position. He has stated that he doesn't want his language to be policed, which in no way means that he wants to police the thoughts of others. Obviously everyone can identify as they like.

You can clearly see which side is reasonable here:

This is hilarious. These loonies are gonna have a hard time outside of campus in the real world. I'm sure they are always offended.

Good for this prof. Things are going from bad to worse with the PC police invading every institution. The insanity is spreading everywhere.

I hope gets one set up - would love to watch. Got his lecture going in the background now and he's started by comparing self-proclaimed Marxists to Nazis lol.

He's a psych prof though so at least he's in the right domain.

EDIT: he started to look familiar, I think it's because this video was posted here at some point as well:
