Jon Jones is somehow still immensely popular and he has literally done everything wrong over and over again.

If this was a race issue, he would be impacted negatively as well.

This. People of all backgrounds loved Ali...and that dude spoke his mind.

Lol predictable you’re boyfriend must be reAdy to leave you with how boring and predictable you are.

Sorry for your loss

My boyfriend is your little brother and your right, he is ready to to leave. And it is because I am boring and predictable. I always pitch, I never catch, I never give him warning when he is on his knees and I am about to blow, and I am not at all attentive to his needs.

And I'm sorry too, he was a nice little piece of ass.

what the fuck?

people of all backgrounds did not love ali. people HATED Ali for not going to war and not listening to the white men in charge telling him what to do and for talking about race just like people hate Woodley for it now.

do you guys know anything about black history?

“Everyone turned on him,” fellow boxer George Foreman told CNN on Saturday. “I mean literally everyone. I hadn’t even gone into boxing yet. No one wanted to be in his presence. No one wanted to be his friend and he was dropped.”

This was one of the toughest parts of Ali’s life. As his backers in the Nation of Islam pushed him further into activism, much of white American shunned him. His passport had been taken away. He complained, at one point that: “I’m not allowed to work in America and I’m not allowed to leave America.”

I don't think Din Thomas has a clue what he's talking about.

Some people just aren't likable. Some are.

Rampage Jackson was a large black man always speaking his mind and crossing lines he shouldn't have crossed, but he was very popular.

Mike Bisping. Colby Covington. Neither large nor black, and they always speak their minds - and most people hate them.

Luke Rockhold was very popular back when he didn't talk much, but then he started talking and now everyone hates him.

Overtly looks for the easiest match ups and tries to tell the fans which fights are money fights

You can't dislike a black fighter without being racist, even Woodley's black haters are racist.

Hmmmmm...............So you either like all black fighters or you are a racist?

What if I dislike all fighters? Am I racist then?

Where to even begin. It's all stupid. But his nugget:
"But Jon Jones can’t because he’s a drug addict and steroids and he’s running pregnant ladies over, so he comes off as human. He has problems and people can relate to that.”

Lmao. I've had my fair share of problems, being a drug addict, steroid cheat and running pregnant ladies over was never one of them. And hardly what people relate with 'human'.
Jesus christ, Din Thomas is dumber than a bag of limp dicks.
Or he's saying ppl relate to ppl they can pity or feel better than and who they can "advise". And that ppl who admit they need help and might take that advice are easier to relate to than ppl who don't give a fuck what you think and are proud and even defiant.

And maybe that point went right over the heads of ppl who are "dumber than a bag of limp dicks"? Surely you didn't think Thomas was saying we all share drug addiction and vehicular assault with Jones?

Right? You didn't think he was saying that, right? Did you really?

Smh...

Calm down. Yes, Ali had his haters, then and now. BUT, in GENERAL his appeal was broader, especially historically. You'll be ok.

I find Woodley to be more entertaining on the mic than in the ring. I've never been a huge fan of fighters that go out and do the bare minimum to win. I watch to see people try and finish the fight (which is why I didn't care for GSP either). The race baiting thing came off as a gimmick to me so it doesn't bother me. Woodley seems like a pretty chill guy overall, but his fights as champ have been lackluster at best. I can't really blame him for playing to his strengths which gives him a better chance to hold on to the title, but it's not going to make anyone want to watch a money fight with him in it.

you guys are such crybaby bitches holy shit. always creating these false narratives and then crying about them even though they don't exist.

lots of people don't like woodley. the people that are probably racist are the ones who don't like woodley because he's talked about race. if you don't like woodley for his fights, great. if you don't like his commentating, also great. if you don't like him because he's arrogant, also great (though you better not then compliment white fighters for being "confident" because that'd be a double standard)

but if you're going to come into threads about him and constantly bring up the times he's talked about race (which, BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF, is not that much. the last article was january of last year where he even mentioned it. it's you sensitive bitch boys that keep bringing it up that are keeping it alive) then you probably have some figuring out to do about which side of history you wanna be on

Why isn't Woodley popular? A wise man once said..........

yeah, black people liked him and more liberal white people liked him. like, do you not see the parallel here?

if we were to take this crowd of people here that talk about woodley, those that are sympathizing with him (both white and black) would be the Ali fans and the rest of you crying about the seldom times he's discussed race saying "WELL WHY CANT WHITE PEOPLE SAY THIS POOR US WAHH" would be the ones that were trying to ruin his life and career. that's the side of history you would be on.

no, in "general" his appeal was not broader. he was appealing to progressives and african americans and disgruntled white conservatives hated him

woodley is only annoying to listen to when he talks about himself

There's no irony here. Just demonstrates how new you are to MMA.
To HIM it could very well be ironic...

I don't like Tyrone abuse he is a race baiter, thinks he's better than everyone else and I just find him boring

He said what he said and i think about it what i think about it.

But do go on feeling yourself, Samuel L Jackson imposter. Next time stick an ironic bible quote in there and you will be even cooler.

He wasnt saying everyone has those problems he was saying alot of people have been or at some point have known a total fuck up and thus people can relate

Everyone takes everything literally literally now a days and it makes understanding nuance and peoples points really difficult at times.

Doesnt matter anyway its all bullshit . People dont like twood a whole lot because he has been in a lot of boring fights . let him starch a fool or 2 and you will see a complete change on the popularity . Nothin to do with race or how human he is or any of that
