Crime Tyre Nichols video to be released soon. 5 Memphis cops fired and charged with murder for his death

Testing can clearly be improved, even if will never be perfect. I know it's a personal anecdote, but I went to school with a guy who's now a sheriff. Except he previously failed his pysch eval for another dept because one of his references was an ex he abused. That's an easy example clearly, testing is insufficient or being ignored. And the sheriff tends to start out newer members in the jail system. That's a recipe for enabling abuse.

Abuse of an ex and he is law enforcement?is it an elected official?

Do you believe that whilst he's running from police, one of them would not have moved quicker cause they had FULL FUCKING FUNCTIONING LEGS and been able to tackle him or kick him before he made a full rotation?
You can even see how God damn slow and hard it is for him to turn in the video.

But yeah sure. A grown ass man with full legs wouldn't be able to kick him in the back as he's fucking running away

that’s what I said. That or pull the cruiser in front of him to block him in. I don’t want a knife thrown at me. A video of a cop spartan kicking him as he waddled away would be hilarious. I carried a riot shield and a five foot long pole to deal with situations just like this. True UK police have this shit down to a science. American police should learn from their example. With all that said, I don’t have a problem with this shoot because he had just plunged that knife into an innocent victim, so fuck him essentially.

Yup. And that's not particularly unusual for that department, there are plenty of instances of favoritism or overlooking personal failing among active personal. Not to mention they are one of the biggest department's in the nation. And nope, regular smart and competent guy on paper.

Having authority changes many people. We've seen experiments and some good men turn into fucking monsters. Improve psychological testing for people who want to be policemen and you'll improve the quality of the force.

Power corrupts.

As for psych testing, why stop at police? Why not the same for doctors, nurses, fire fighters, armed forces, politicians, anyone who's on the tv...........

Nah.

You realize most, if not all those jobs, heavily screen personality before starting right? The armed forces literally tests to see what job and role you are best suited for.

I'd need some proof. It's hard to think someone would be stupid enough to purposely antagonize a cop like that especially when you weigh only 140 lbs.
Yeah I have no idea how true it is but you'd have to be pretty dumb to antagonize a cop like that

Modern society broke the nuclear family, and I don't think humans are really designed to live in cities with so many people
Bingo, that's a BIG problem. People complain about all these things but they don't see the "values" that actually created them.

You think he is not going to turn when you get close to him? You are going to roll around with with a person armed with a knife?

How much experience do you have with rolling with a person armed with a knife ( say a practice shock knife)? How many actual stabbings have you seen?

Either you are trolling or you have no idea what you are talking about.

Of course knives are dangerous but there are so many cases of old ladies and tiny women with kitchen knives getting shot. I don't see a lot of thought going on in these situations, just "knife=kill" which can't be right all the time. Who says you have to "roll around" with the guy, grab a trash can and beat his stupid head in, sure people would still complain, "aww, you din't have to beat his ass" but he'd probably survive.

No matter what any of us think though, the cat is out of the bag and a lot of tumult and change will be seen in the near future.

Sure there are cases where other things can be tried. I'm speaking about this case. He already stabbed someone that might die. He was tazed and not stopped. If they had a bean bag shotgun I would say go for it. However in this case I got no problem with shooting him.

Well, maybe they'll try other ways in the future, who knows. The brits are way beyond us in this way. If it were me, I wouldn't be threatened by the guy, that's all I can say with certainty. I'd grab the biggest loose thing I could and beat his ass with it, of course they still wouldn't be happy with that but his chances of survival would skyrocket.

And if he did, I'd expect more "personal" rhetoric coming from the officers involved. Not too specific, but something that sounds fishy. It looks like they were pissed off at him just being resistant and causing them problems(like macing each other, and wasting their tasers) and just overall being a pain in the ass making them chase him and causing a clown show. Looks and sounds like a pride thing.

I think we also would've heard some legit reporting on it, since it wouldn't exactly excuse their actions. It would actually add fire to their unprofessional actions. There's no way the rabid journalists don't have that kind of information by now, and it wouldn't have been leaked by someone more credible than a Twitter rando.
