I also believe the overwhelming majority of officers are good. Problem is some of the departments and their culture and unspoken policies like quotas.

From the beginning one of the cops says "I'll fucking break you" and they start kicking the shit out of him. It looks like he may have been trying to comply too. Don't blame that guy one bit for trying to get out of that situation. Basic human nature, fight or flight.

Yeah, these cops are pieces of shit and deserve to be locked up for a long time for what they did.

If the overwhelming majority of people in general are good, then so too are the police. But the same goes for any profession.
People are not defined by what their job is, people are just people. Police men and women are not cut from finer cloth than the rest of us, and again the same can be said about anyone from doctors, scientists, celebrities, politicians, and not forgetting 'experts'. Anyone.
I just find it weird when people debate this and someone who is trusted in society turns out to be a murderer, someone else always springs up to defend the overall police department or whatever and go on about how it's just an isolated incident and honestly everyone else is just spiffing and does an amazing job and we definitely do not have a single other mass murderer/rapist/whatever within our ranks blah blah blah.
But then we always soon get another. And another. And another...........

People are just people. And lots of people are just vile scumbags.
 
did anyone else hear the rumor that the dead guy was messing with one of the cops' wives? Anyone hear anything else about it?

No, it’s my opinion that those same 5 cops would kill a white man.
You asked, if there was evidence of cops killing white suspects and other races/ethnicities. I said yes and provided evidence.

Your opinion is your opinion, sure. That's not what I asked at all. That is incorrect. You still are not understanding it. That is not proof that this specific group of cops would also kill a different kind of suspect.

I don't think many people agree with that. I think many people feel that bad cops prey and victimize on certain people they feel they can get away with. Or even have a history of getting away with certain things over people that may be deemed less creditable.

Again none of us know this answer for sure.

For all we know it could be similar to the cops who rape and take advantage of prostitutes. They aren't going to rape some lady at a traffic stop or some upstanding female citizen with no record or priors that they might encounter on a routine call. However, if they pickup a known offender late at night its totally different.

That's exactly how predators work too. For all we know these guys can be predators and habitual violators of human rights. With a type.

No I don’t say that like it’s a silver lining. These cops were particularly brutal and seemed like they were out to make sport out of beating the shit out of the first person they came across. The belief i have on this matter both saddens and disappoints me on a great and very deep level. I do think the response would have been different if he were white and the same cops were involved. I feel like older white people would care a lot more while black people would be like welcome to the club, but there also wouldn’t be protests in major cities-of that I am certain

Quotas are not so much an issue today as they were fifteen years ago. I never ever had a quota. Ever. If you worked a govt grant, you were expected to have a good many stops and contacts but no arrest was made. But I never did those because I don’t like traffic stops

You are absolutely correct in saying that none of us know how this would have turned out. Even little tweaks in behavior would have changed the outcome. If they had gotten him cuffed the first time, he would likely still be alive. Had he run, he might have been beaten, but alive. I don’t blame him for running as I feel it is a natural response to such aggression. And the most important thing is that this is my opinion. I believe these cops were looking to brutalize someone for fun. And predators do seek out those they feel are vulnerable, however, in the case of cops, they feel that their power and influence likely makes almost anyone a victim to them.

I am almost always the one that says don’t fight don’t run. I still believe that had he not run, he would have taken a beating, but would still be alive. I feel that way only because any change in the chain of events likely alters this situation. With that said, I completely understand why he ran. These fucks were like rabid dogs after a rabbit.

I have heard that, however, his dad completely denies this and says it’s just a rumor

Bingo. I refuse to give them a pass because they wear a shield. There are too many incidents lately involving conduct unbecoming, excessive force and negligence. If officers are suppose to be held to a higher standard then back it up and set the example. What bothers me the most is the number of officers who go to lethal force and shoot unarmed citizens. Anyone that doesn't see this as a rising problem needs a psych evaluation completed
