@Sir Elzio Dennick

GOAT Canadian athlete (by large margin imo) and fascinating life.

Also, GOAT nickname for pretty much anything (The Big Train).

Lionel Conacher bless.

10 best retired RB's not in the Hall of Fame and never will be,

Dick Bass Rams/UOP first 1000 yarder
Cookie Gilchrist Bills/no college, straight from HS to the CFL, AFL first 1000 yarder
JD Smith Niners/NCA&T first HBCU 1000 yarder
Matt Snell Jets/Ohio State.....real MVP in SBIII
Willie Galimore Bears/FAMU...amazing
Abner Haynes Chiefs/North Texas State the first "star" of the AFL
Don Perkins Cowboys/New Mexico, that's his RC up above,
Timmy Brown Eagles/Ball State, best RB out of the MAC
Terry Metcalf Cards/Long Beach State, great kick returner also
Bo Jackson Raiders/Auburn....classic what could have been.

While at Long Beach State he long jumped 25-10, his son Eric an NCAA champion at over 27 feet.

nI that video the guy says...........Terry Metcalf the most exciting runner to ever wear a Cardinal uniform.........that simply isn't true, Olympic sprinter Ollie Matson a Hall of Famer was just as.....wow! He was a Chicago Cardinal.

Wow!

I have heard/read about him just can't remember how or why.
Not only did he play and win championships in 5 or 6 different sports, was prominent figure in local politics. But his name crops up when you see a piece on Canadian athletes here and there.

Died young unfortunately, mid 50s.

I remember now it was over on a track site, some guy wanted to talk the great Canadian athletes, he mentioned him. Easy to see why.

Size with speed

Obviously Bo was far faster than his 10.39, he toyed with track.

Dupree took second in the Mississippi state HS champs he was out leaned by little Calvin Smith a future 9.93 world record holder.

Highly recommend "The Courtship of Marcus Dupree" a book by Wille Morris, a great read, more than just football.

Watcing those two RB's at Notre Dame got me thinking about great RB duos at the NCAA level from back in the day.

I gotta start with Army's Mr,Inside Doc Blanchard a bull and Mr.Outside Glenn Davis a 9.6 sprinter, both would win a Heisman..

Speaking of two RB;s there together who were both Heisman winners, USC with Charles White and Marcus Allen pulled that off also,

Another Trojan dynamic duo was Reggie Bush and LenDale White, classic Thunder and Lighting..

Penn State had Franco Harris and Lydell Mitchell, can't count Oklahoma State with Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders, Sanders came on after Thomas had left.

Michigan State once had another Thunder and Lighting combo n big Mel Anthony and speedy Squirmin' Sherman Lewis.

So who am I forgetting?

USC has had 8 pro football1000 yard rushers among the alumni

Mike Garrett Heisman
OJ Simpson Heisman
Charles White Heisman
Marcus Allen Heisman
Ricky Bell
Sam Cunningham............Pats franchise leader
Reggie Bush Heisman
LenDale White

What other schools can match or better that?
