Official Trailer for Daniel Radcliffe's Documentary DAVID HOLMES: THE BOY WHO LIVED

The Boy Who Lived, an HBO Original Documentary which tells the extraordinary story of Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double and their lasting friendship, premieres November 15 on Max.

Official Trailer for FX's SHOGUN; Premieres February 2024 on Hulu

Based on James Clavell’s novel, FX’s Shōgun is set in Japan in the year 1600 at the dawn of a century-defining civil war. Lord Yoshii Toranaga is fighting for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him, when a mysterious European ship is found marooned in a nearby fishing village.

I remember my parents watching the TV series based off the book in the 80's, and then I read the book myself in the 00's. Good book overall. I do remember a large penis joke in the book for when the guys washes up on shore and they are tending to him and turn him over. lol! That scene probably won't make it into this FX series. Looks quality, I'm IN!

One of my favorite books, and I enjoy the old mini series. Did not know they were doing this, so this is cool.

I was very little when Shogun was on TV and didn't really watch it but growing up here, I was into Japanese this and that, super robots, ninjas. All I remember was some scary crucifix scene. Something like that. Too scary for a little kid. Will try to watch this on FX or HULU later.

Hate that they took Modern Family off of Netflix....one of the GOAT sitcoms imo

Cheers, I'll check it out after PLUTO.

Finished Pluto today. Man, was it great! It translated so well to anime from the source material, I daresay that it surpassed it's original format completely. It was beautifully done and so visually appealing. It was absolutely fantastic!

I never read the manga, but they did a great job at making me care about every character in such a short amount of time.

Watching Silo on Apple TV+. It's almost too slow moving and barely interesting.

EDIT: Almost finished with the first season and gets a bit more interesting the more they reveal.

My oldest keeps telling me to give it a shot. I guess I'll try to watch an episode or two as time allows.

Finished Silo Season 1. I guess I need to watch Season 2. Season 1 starts kinda slow, too slow.

Watching Echo 3. Especially in the beginning it's like tryhard macho men live action Call of Duty Modern Warfare.

Gen V 5/10

Loved The Boys but this is not great. I don't give a shit about any of the characters and it completely lacks build up to anything. Characters meet and 5 minutes later they are risking their lives for each other.

I am having a hard time with it myself for the reasons you have stated. It just makes no sense to me how these folks operate. I do appreciate the gore though.

I'm in episode 4 or 5 of Scavengers Reign and it's one of the best sci-fi (animated or not) shows I've seen recently.

One episode left of Echo 3 and seems like a skippable show unless you like macho man stupid shit. I feel like someone pulled strings to cast the actress who played the well respected "hottie" journalist with nose ring. They seem to go out of their way to glamorize her. The female lead is one of the ugliest leads I've seen. (Edit: Finished watching. Absolutely no likeable characters. I'm no special forces guy, but various things in the show seemed stupid, especially leaving the safehouse door unlocked, hugging instead of getting the fook out of danger ASAP.)

Browsed Freevee and saw a bunch of stuff to add to watchlist like three episodes of Jack Reacher. (Edit: Finished watching the first 3 free episodes. I like it. I'll probably get Amazon Prime after I finish Apple TV+.)

Getting caught up on Our Flag Means Death, season 2.

It's been hilarious so far (if you like this type of humor). I only have 3 episodes to go to the finale.
