I had a lot 'bubbling' in my thoughts after watching it - but I'm probably going to watch it again to think things over. not just about the show, but basically with where we're at when it comes to modern technology. I mean, that is the goal - to be able to hack time, & fuck with it - to hold it in our hands & control it. the one force that cannot be harnessed.
in Westworld, they literally highlighted this in the last episode - the "God" machine. it's almost like, but a lesser version than what they were working on in Devs/Deus.
I still have a lot of questions, but I'll come back around after a rewatch.
also, in the X-Men comics, they have something very similar going on right now - Cerebro, with the power of Professor X essentially 'downloads' a mutant's history constantly - if he/she were to die, they've developed a system where a select group of mutants who have special powers can perform a "rebirth" of the deceased, where after Cerebro then migrates their "life data" into the bodies so they wouldn't miss a beat. the Devs/Deus system works differently, but did the same for Lily & Forrest except they're stuck in the system. just like in Black Mirror's San Junipero episode (& like the Matrix. living in a sim).
I'm satisfied with the ending, meaning I'm happy it wasn't a terrible or stupid ending. I want to see what would have happened if Stewart didn't do shit, & Lily & Forrest both lived on.
