Television TV Show Thread

I just rewatched The Shield and was thinking of going back to The Leftovers, one of the best shows nobody ever talks about. I watched it in real time but have never gone back because it's so intense.

It's the story about what happens after ten percent of the global population just vanishes. It's an emotional sledgehammer about dealing with grief.

Carrie Coon was incredible.

Here's the opening scene to the series.

Anyone here watched the first 2 seasons of Physical 100 on netflix?

I just started Countdown on Prime. Stars Jensen Ackles from Supernatural fame. Eric Dane plays an FBI Special Agent who puts together a task force of hard nosed specialists from FBI, LAPD, DEA, to help solve the murder of a fellow agent that seems to be something much larger. I am a few episodes in and I like it so far. Critics are split. It is a little jumpy, and fast paced from one scene to the next. Good action so far. Feels like 24 in some ways. Maybe a bit formulaic, but it isn't boring.

Just started that last night also. It does fell a little paint by numbers, but I'm invested in it so far through the first 3 episodes.

I am late to the party, but I just started AMC's Pantheon on Netflix. Only 2 episodes in, but I'm hooked!!! This shit is right up my alley!

Binged the first two episodes of the newly released arson investigator show on Apple TV+. Felt a bit weird that within the two episodes, they seem to reveal who the two perps are. I guess the remaining episodes will be cat and mouse or something. I hope it ain't going to focus on the little shit stepson with an attitude.

I watched Lioness season 2 and The Agency season 1 on Paramount over the last couple weeks. Enjoyed both a lot. Lioness' season finale was mediocre though while The Agency's left me excited for season 2. Will continue to watch both if they continue.

I will watch The Agency now…thanks for the recommendation…

The Agency tells the story a bit out of sequence, but it makes sense at the end.

I resumed watching Foundation Season 2 and I forget who was talking about the lawless situation like the dictators rise to power, do whatever the fook and are not held accountable and become rapists and the poor are made into slaves and the robot has eternal life, wants to be free, kills the human dictator and memory wipes the clones to not question the robot. Was this show referring to real life present day or near future?

EDIT: Finished Season 2. The second half was much better because they revealed more and encountered evil cult woman leader who had telekinesis and telepathy like Jean Grey + Shadow King.

I dig it. Only seen first two episodes but action good. Bit sad about the eventual Jensen. The drug running was fun.

I quit 9 Perfect Strangers after 3 episodes where I slept through most of it, husband said it was bollocks too. Loved the first season.

I have to put in a plug for Slow Horses - thriller MI6 with the castoffs and Gary Oldman as the boss of these misfits. It’s a great show, witty, exciting. Highly recommend.

I’ve also enjoyed Murderbot as a mindless 30 minute watch.

Friends and Neighbors was a good run too. I hope they do a second season.

The latter is getting a second season. Toss up between that and Suits as show of the year thus far.

Slow Horses, I quit because he's so gross and smelly. Picked it up again and indeed it's brilliant.

Finished up Pantheon, and I thought it was excellent! The storyline was great and I loved the moral and ethical questions it posed for a potential future that may be possible. DNA is biological code anyway, so it does not seem like to much of a stretch to digitize at some point. Or maybe just stay in a Cyberpunk type of existence. lol

I am finally starting Invincible. I am 3 episodes in and like it a lot. From what I remember people posting about years ago when it started, was that it gets dark as the series goes on. Looking forward to that!
