Television TV Show Thread

Finished Season 2 of Gannibal on HULU. Worth watching if you can tolerate the dude bro macho man characters and scary zombie like cannibal guy. The second season shows the history of the feared family and the origins of some key characters, so that was good.

Incredible show. Just wrapped it up with the wife. She has to sit through my cosmic horror shows / movies and even she didn’t want this to end. Glad to hear it’s been renewed for Season 2. So much to love about it.
Not only is it a cool sci fi survival show, but it gives us a look at a culture that isn't really represented much, in Argentina. It started off small, but the show took on this huge feel in the last few episodes.

Yea, my wife who grew up in Tijuana thought the show was based in Spain because of their accents. I really enjoyed the friendship between all of the characters. There was even a bit of redemption in there.

Suits: LA cancelled. Good thing I didn't follow this even though I love the first few seasons of the original Suits.

So why is it good for you if you know nothing about it? The reboot was fucking epic.

I misread. Sozzles. This is fucking gutting, best lawyer drama ever written, having the original cast members involved gave it a boost. Just making family again within a few episodes. So fucking gutted. Best show of the year by far.

I'm just saying that it's a good thing I didn't start watching a show that's abruptly cancelled because it would be so frustrating not having any closure. Also there's a chance that the show might not be good and the cancellation might be an indication of its quality.

just came in here to bitch about the handmaid's tale some more. i know y'all aren't the audience for it, but i have literally nowheres else to bitch about it lol. nobody i know watches it.

anyways, in this episode the writing and plot holes are so glaring. it's not the same show. not at all. if aunt lydia let a group of handmaids walk out freely she'd be hanged. except she won't be because she's needed for the next spin-off series. why a guard with a gun just let the handmaids run out is a mystery, some say the aunts have more authority over the handmaids than them, but we've seen these guys before, they'll shoot a bitch down with no hesitation. and how are these handmaids roaming the streets? what happened to all the check points, the guards, anybody, everybody. yes most ate serena's tainted wedding cake but come on, surely not every guard ate the cake, who was guarding the wedding then?

gilead used to suck so much because you couldn't even breathe wrong without facing fear of being shot or hanged or tortured. it felt suffocating and hopeless to watch. now it's like any other town where everybody can come and go freely and do as they please with no one stopping them. how the fuck are they passing MULTIPLE knives around under the guards' eyes? especially when they dropped one and it was heard hitting the floor.

AND ANOTHER THING

okay i forgot.

anyways, two episodes left, can't wait till it's over.

If it means anything, I can count on one hand the shows that didn't 'go to shit.'

The chances of a show not 'going to shit' in one or many of a dozen different ways, at sometime during its run, are astronomically low.

Especially streaming shows, which seem to either be cancelled or continued for far more seasons than they deserve, regardless of their viewing numbers.

I couldn't get into many 'chick-shows.'
But I did get into Vampire Diaries, and still consider the first 3 seasons to be great TV.

Seasons 4,5,&6.... gradual decline of quality from 'Alot of leaps in logic, but still pretty good' to it eventually being 'The only reason I'm still watching is because I'm hoping it'll get better, but it keeps getting worse.'

I skipped out after the main actress left, but checked back in for the series finale when she returned.... and saw that the show kept getting worse... and worse... and worse after I stopped watching.

By the way Handmaid's Tale could have been told as a modern-day series set in a country with Sharia Law, rather than a dystopian-American future.
