Amazon Prime is taking a shot at making a series based on the Yakuza games.

Nice! I haven't played the games, but really enjoyed Tokyo Vice. I'm glad to see another Yakuza show coming soon, after the Tokyo Vice series ended.

Caught up on some shows that were in my queue. Finished Sweet Tooth on Netflix. I was a bit surprised on some of the events in the last 2 episodes, but it ended well. This final season wasn't as good as the first 2 seasons IMO.

Finished the finale season for Evil. Man, I am really bummed that this show was cancelled! Knowing that the 4th season was the last, they still ended the show with an open ending, so hopefully another platform picks them up. I really enjoyed the cast and supernatural aspect of the show. Having been raised Catholic, it was pretty cool to see those superstitions explored. I am a godless heathen now, but still enjoyed the show. (Edit: The final season is actually longer than previous seasons at a run of 14 episodes, so got 3 more to go before the end.)

Caught up on The Bear, and I enjoyed the season overall, but it was a bit chaotic and slow paced. There were more episodes out of the kitchen/restaurant, then in. Was cool to see Carmie's in flashbacks, how Tina ended up working at The Beef, and of course flashbacks with Mikey. John Berthanal kills that role! The finale episode was good and the ending was good/funny. What will happen with the review! lmao!

Netflix Unsolved Mysteries season 4

They have chosen some odd cases for this show. I found episode two and three pretty interesting. Havent watched 4 yet but come on, The Mothman? Jack the Ripper? Just 5 episodes and you completely waste two on these? Mothman is just dumb and a half an hour isnt enough time to scratch the surface on the Jack the Ripper case. Pick some lesser known crimes. I thought that was the whole point.

@fingercuffs Have you heard of Chappell Roan? I've been listening to her album for the past few weeks and I'm really digging it. Even though I'm not the target demographic for her songs, I love the heavy 80s synth style, her vocals and the fun, catchy songs.

Given my Depeche Mode & Gary Numan adoration it sounds like I could definitely be into her...I'll stick her on my list. Thanks for the recommendation.

Nice. Took me the second or third time listening to her album to get the familiarity of the songs and truly appreciate it.

I've been reading on her biography. Took her 10 years to reach stardom. Started as a YouTuber in 2014 uploading cover songs, got picked up Atlantic Records, dropped by her label in 2020, went back home working menial jobs, went back to L.A. in 2022 to work on new songs while working at a donut shop, got selected to open for Olivia Rodrigo's Guts tour, and finally reached mainstream popularity.

Watching Lioness and seems like the dialogue is reflecting current day events and policies/struggles.

It is a different beast from political pov than most current shows reflecting on politics.

Arrested Development

anyone remember this comedy from the early 2000s? its crossed my mind a few times over the years and i started a rewatch the other night. it stands up pretty well, possibly because it felt very 'modern' at the time.
I started watching it years ago, but never finished it. I need to start it again.

Was hooked but the ending was shite.

To be fair, I may have been more interested than you cause I haven’t watched any court room drama movies/shows.

The ending was terrible though.
Have you seen "The Night Of"? Also on HBO. Very similiar but i thought it was a lot better without the doodoo ending.

No, I haven't. I will add it to the watch list though. Thanks.

It’s funny I was just going through my couch money tv recommendations and I read the descriptions of some titles and I added it to my favorites to check it out later. I just logged in to see your like and read your comment again … I went back to check the tv titles I added to watch later and one of the ones I added that had a good description was called the night of

Lol

Finished watching Lioness and Mayor of Kingstown S3.

The Nicole character looks like she got malpractice surgery and her character acts like hot shit and so eager to step forward to cuss out underlings. Any word if one and done or a Season 2? The Cruz character is not ugly and has nice naked buns. The rich daughter is also not ugly.

i was pleasantly surprised by how well it stood up, its like, to me its light humour with the occasional belly laugh over the ridiculousness of a couple of the characters (mostly the musician guy who i find fucking hilarious)
