Halo cancelled after two seasons.

Halo was straight trash LOL

Classic example of using a popular IP as a skinsuit for the show the producers actually wanted to make that they wouldn't have got funding to make.

S1 was straight trash but S2 was much better. It's a shame they cancelled as soon as Master Chief finally made it to the OG ring.
I'd bet the audience it was supposed to have (the Halo fanbase) watched the first episode/s and didn't even bother watching the rest of the first season, so the second season didn't even have a chance no matter what improvements it actually did have.

And the audience it could have had as a SciFi war series blew it off because it was based off a videogame.

I remember back in 2006 when they announced there was going to be a Halo movie with Peter Jackson directing and Steven Speilburg producing and after years of development hell both fell out from the project, and this was the trash we received at the end.

Quite possibly the biggest example of wasted potential in the history of the entertainment industry.

<WellThere>

Finally got around to watching all season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Prime, and it was fantastic! They did a great job of capturing 50's - 60's era New York. Rachel Brosnahan as Miriam "Midge" Maisel did an absolutely wonderful job portraying the role of a young Jewish mother that stumbles into becoming a stand-up comic. There are lots of famous names and people from the era on the show, most notably Lenny Bruce. Luke Kirby portrayed Lenny Bruce, and also did a phenomenal job in the role. The father of the main character, Abraham Weissman, is played by Tony Shalhoub and is hilarious as well.

Overall, this was a really well done show. I thoroughly enjoyed all 5 seasons and can see why it got a ton of accolades when it was currently running. I would open a main thread to talk about it, but I am not sure there would be much traffic here on Sherdog for this type of show. Anyway, great comedy series and I recommended it!
The missus and I enjoyed it a lot.

Edit: do you remember the TV series Wings? That's where I first saw Shaloub, I think--fantastic from the get go. Funny, I just noticed Monk was on for 7 seasons. Never watched it but it seems like it must be worth a try.

Wings is an all time great show.

What would have saved HALO is premium cable style gratuitous explicit nude sex scenes.

Finished watching HULU's Normal People. Easily one of top 5 things on HULU I watched. It's about a girl and a guy from high school to college and how they adapt to the changes, the bad things in their lives, how they rely on each other, have lots of sexual relations with each other. Very poignant. Will watch it again at some point after knowing the guy's true intentions. It's only like 23 minutes per episode.

The Helmet thing sounded a bit delusional from the fans at first glance but of course they could not give it the Picard S3 treatment.

Halo season 1 was not very good. But season 2 was significantly better. It’s too bad so many people had probably already checked out. And then of course season 2 ends by getting all the video game fans dicks hard by finally having master chief infiltrate the ring and meet guilty spark which leads perfectly into the games storyline only to have it canceled … sucks, was really hoping for a season 3.

The series was definitely not just fan material though, it was a very different version of the master chief. I also thought they wasted too much time on the young asian girl storyline. She served her purpose in season 1 but was wasted space in season 2.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Never watched Picard.

Yeah, S1 had a lot of problems, but they made some big changes in S2, and I could've seen it getting better if they had given it more time.

I don't like how they handled the Flood but S2 was almost good overall. Even Kwan Ha was made tolerable.
