Television TV Show Thread

I'm probably all alone in this but I'm really enjoying United States of Al.

Terrible trailer but I like the show.

That actor Adhir Kaiylan (I believe he's South African of Indian heritage IRL) was excellent on the sitcom Rules of Engagement where he played David Spade's level-headed personal assistant. He routinely stole the show in my opinion.

I've checked out a few episodes of this new series and, again, I'm impressed with his work. His dynamic with co-lead Parker Yong seems really natural. The show has to walk a tough line, particularly with recent events, because you want to treat a very serious subject matter with the requisite respect even though the series is comedic in nature. So far, I think they've been trying to do that.

I like the cast- in addition to Young and Kaylan, Elizabeth Alderfer who plays Young's sister and the solid Dean Norris really deliver credible work. I think it's a testament to actors when they can really sell the family relationships right from the get go.

The young actress the plays the daughter does a good job and I like the ex-wife. Her boyfriend is entertaining too. I like that he's a bit of a clown but weirdly competent and likable in certain facets.

I will continue to watch when I have the chance.

Finished season1 of titans. It was alright... can't really see myself watching anymore of it. What else are people watching?

Looking forward to Foundation and Invasion tonight on Apple TV+. (EDIT: I think these are available a few hours earlier than I realized.) No urgency to watch the rest of Ted Lasso S1.

Sucks that Disney+ doesn't have anything new each week I want to watch.

Gael Garcia Bernal to Star in Marvel Studios' WEREWOLF BY NIGHT Halloween Special for Disney+

Marvel Studios’ search for a Latino lead for its as-yet-untitled Halloween special has ended, with Golden Globe winning Mexican actor Gael García Bernal set to lead the cast of werewolf-focused show that will air on Disney+, TheWrap has exclusively learned.

The Halloween Special is eyeing to begin production in early 2022.

While details about the project are being kept strictly under wraps, individuals with knowledge say the character may be based on Werewolf by Night, the name used by two separate Marvel characters.

The first, Jack Russell, was created by Gerry Conway and Mike Ploog based on concepts by Stan Lee and Roy Thomas, and first appeared in a 1972 issue of Marvel Spotlight. Russell starred on an ongoing Werewolf by Night series that ran for 43 issues and ended in 1977.

Russell is a descendant of the mystically-altered offshoot of humans known as Lycanthropes, who eventually becomes capable of transforming on his own volition even without a full moon, and retaining his intellect while transformed. Among other things, that series is notable for having the first appearance of Moon Knight, a character whose own Disney+ series, starring Oscar Isaac, will stream in 2022.

Marvel introduced a second incarnation of the character, Jake Gomez, last year in Werewolf by Night (Vol. 3) #1. Created by the writing team of Taboo, Benjamin Jackendoff and Scot Eaton, Gomez, a member of the Hopi Native American tribe whose family has been cursed with lycanthropy, comes in conflict with a nefarious pharmaceutical company exploiting members of the tribe.

It’s not clear which, if either, version of Werewolf by Night will serve as inspiration for the TV special.

Love Dopesick.

On a sidenote, it also made me see Will Poulter in a different light. I've always viewed him as the goofy, awkward, weird kid from his films We're the Millers, Narnia, Black Mirror and Maze Runner. I can now see him pull off Adam Warlock. It helped he got buffed also.

I saw an article saying Yellowstone new season starts Sunday. Previous season finale was a big cliffhanger.

Really digging Foundation and Invasion. Also started Squid Games, because my tattooist had it on in the shop while I was getting work done.

also all caught up on succession. watching the new curb and waiting for dexter
Dexter...looking forward to getting in from work and getting involved. I try to avoid trailers but the two I've seen have been brilliant. Felt so short changed with how it ended and Deb being his inner voice is going to be awesome.

I'm, this week going to finish Shield, but I'll be over Dexter first. "You" has filled that void a bit but having Dexter back as Dexter will be wicked cool.
