Kamala ran a good, issues based campaign it was kinda close. It was good because her main focus was being tough on crime, tough on the border, and unity with Republicans, She also said she wanted a ceasefire in Gaza and peace in Ukraine. She's talking about the issues the actual undecided voters in the middle might care about (Believe it or not, we dont think about the trans community 24/7 like you in the trans thread)
What else was she meant to do? bring someone who call Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage? yell about cats and dogs being eaten in debates?
You’re asking democrats to essentially lie as well in order to have a chance at countering the volley of misinformation he spewed.
Simply put, Trump campaigned on grievances. Gave over simplistic concepts of potential solutions like tariffs.
To have better messaging Democrats would need equally simplistic takes but policy doesn’t work that way. You can’t explain WHY tariffs suck in 5-6 words. Or explain a complex multi-level approach across several sectors.
Trump was banking on low propensity voters. He wants people who aren't very politically engaged. There is a reason he abandoned debates, not doing cross party interviews, etc. He has abandoned appealing to people who finished high school, women, and high engaged voters.
He has ran a bad campaign but with cultists like nothing is impossible.
