Elections Tulsi & Trump accuse Obama of leading a Coup against trump in 2016

There’s some truth in that, yeah. But like, non-Right-leaning outlets did try to correct some of the misconceptions, but conservatives DGAF about that. And I think for the average American, whatever narrative they hear the most or dominates is what sticks in their mind. Trump is a master of this—he comes up with short little slogans (“No collusion, no obstruction!”) and repeats it ad nauseum. It’s quite effective.

I highly encourage you to read the best selling book "Thinking, Fast and Slow".

It's short, concise, and explains perfectly how humans think, decide, and make decisions.

System 1 is fast thinking - it is intuitive, automatic, emotional, prone to bias, and fast.

System 2 is deliberate, analytical, logical, and much slower. System 2 requires effort and attention. The majority of the population avoids System 2 whenever possible, as it requires effort.

All of this is to say that making those long, well informed posts, complete with sources/etc., are not, for a second, read by 99% of the right leaning people on this website.

Almost all of them operate in System 1 and System 1 only. They see a headline, it tickles their emotions, and that's good enough - this is also why so many right wingers spam TwitterXgram to make their arguments for them - it provides a quick fix for people who associate politics with emotions.

If you pay attention, you will notice a pattern. People like Whippy, Scerpi, the Maganadians, etc., do not actually read posts beyond a sentence or 2 - they read the first line, and scan the rest for buzzwords that their emotionally driven intellect is drawn to. They will then proceed to make an argument they saw on X or Facebook, which, 99 times out of 100, is simply based on an appeal to emotion (in order to generate interest and likes) - there is no effort to even be remotely factual.

It is for that reason that I can't post in good faith here anymore. 50% of the right wingers are simply trolls trying to get a rise out of people and post nothing more than a line or two, or, they are like the guy you are arguing with in this thread - they don't READ through anything you (or @HomeCheese) is posting - I can promise you that. It requires way too much effort. They have the attention span of a 5yo, and prefer to live a life operating in System 1.

Check out the book. I guarantee you will like it.

The scandal is enormous. I know you want to ignore it, but it's not going away.
LOL!

So Trump and his 2016 campaign had over 100 points of contact with known Russian operatives, what do you think they were talking about with all those conversations?

Do you think this will come out in the hearings you are wet dreaming about?

I gotta say, I do get the feeling of hopelessness. I think some of the posters you mentioned represent a solid swath of the voting public who operate in an area beyond reason. Too radicalized to be reasoned with.

Beyond this the system is broken, too much money and not enough accountability of our elected representatives. Also, the press/media is compromised by the ruling class.

The American from my childhood is gone for good I believe.

Yeah we're fucked. Trump is a symptom, not the disease.

Whats this. More smoke screens? Orange Jewlius is screwing up the nation in a dozen different ways and this is what he wants you to focus on. Gtfo.

Also, I thought Tulsi was smarter than this. Maybe she was but she drank the politician elixir to get to where shes at, clearly.

Ive never felt worse being a north american. 2 and a half more years and im outta here. Hooray!!

agree on all points (replace America with UK). what i notice in looking at online posts from our equivalent of the demographic helltoupee describes, I'm not sure its *just* the intellectual laziness qua system1/2, for me there is such a strong sense that these people really *enjoy* the bile that they feel when they talk of duh liberals and immigrants and so on, I mean, they fuckin *relish* it, they indulge themselves in it

and so I think its kinda bleaker than merely people indulging intellectual laziness because intellectual effort *doesn't* suit them- its that they deeply desire to indulge their bile and rancour because it *does*. Like, there is a dopamine payoff for them with every bile-laced rant. No amount of reason and layered, nuanced factual argument can compete with that dopamine hit.

Tulsi was always for sale. She exposed herself with her Bashar apologetics and then Clinton was right to call her a Russian asset.

You know, I recall the rumor of Hillary losing here shit when it looked like Trump was going to win and she said something about how Trump would hang them all, or something to that affect.

At the time, I thought it seemed like some silly hyperbole. I mean, politics are dirty and they lost the election. What could Tump get them for? Well, now we know. Her panic makes a lot more sense now.

TL/DR. Seriously, though, I'll look into that book.

I'm trying to understand why Brennan is not on that list? Clapper?
