Economy TSMC Arizona Has Been Activated

Why are you talking about market cap, and why are you talking about the here and now? He specifically mentioned revenue, and the period 2005-2020. He almost certainly is referencing revenue derived from semiconductor sales, too, not overall sales (as corporations like Samsung make most of their revenue from other products).

Yeah, clearly. Samsung is a massive conglomerate with its hands in a multitude of industries outside of even electronics, nevermind semiconductors. The only segment they really participate in as an IDM is DRAM, in addition to their contract manufacturing foundry business. They've got some healthy competition there with SK Hynix and the aforementioned US national champ Micron Technology.

Micron was one of China's most notable targets for IP theft.

According to the indictment, the defendants were engaged in a conspiracy to steal the trade secrets of Micron Technology, Inc. (Micron), a leader in the global semiconductor industry specializing in the advanced research, development, and manufacturing of memory products, including dynamic random-access memory (DRAM). DRAM is a leading-edge memory storage device used in computer electronics. Micron is the only United States-based company that manufactures DRAM. According to the indictment, Micron maintains a significant competitive advantage in this field due in large part from its intellectual property, including its trade secrets that include detailed, confidential information pertaining to the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced DRAM products.

They got buried for that shit.

My natural instinct to the thought of a merger is revulsion but has tempered with a little more thought. Gelsinger is under an enormous amount of pressure and people are losing faith, but I'd like to see him have the opportunity to carry out his ambitious plans. The optics are going to be looking a hell of a lot better once Intel is able to utilize High NA lithography at scale and regains its status in process technology. Qualcomm runs a very lean fabless chip design operation and their SoC's kick ass, just absolute world-class.
Qualcomm can't afford to buy Intels fab side and Intel won't sell their design side since it's the only part making money so far. Not to mention nearly every major country's regulators would veto a merger. And then on top of that it's not even clear qualcomm would get the x86 license in a merger.

The merger talk is about as realistic as a sherbro saying there going to marry some famous celeb.

Even if a merger could get approval, it's ultimately undesirable on both sides of the equation. They are better as separate entities, and Intel needs to sort itself out. It's got a whole lot of backing from Uncle Sam now.

@Deorum i feel I am the biggest trump supporter on here, you may disagree on that specific, as others on here are great.

But every day is a gift of a phoenix rising. Basically the signing of the Declaration of Independence every single day. It is becoming hard to follow, to be honest.

I just love it. Trump’s team is coordinating with these companies to invest across the sun and rust belts, to maximize the effect of job creation.

It is so next level and has not been seen in this country in a century, actually, if ever, given the world is a global market place with so much infrastructure already developed.

Now we just need to get those damn MINERALS.

Maybe not.
