this is whats most shocking to me. In no way should this be a partisan issue. Charter schools in general aren't a partisan issue and has crossover to both sides of the aisle. But to disregard standards for them? Are you kidding me? The lack of the regulation around charter schools is literally the problem with them. Even pro charter people admit to that.

This lady is woefully under qualified and wants to privatize education, due to private schools funnels money to her interests. Florida has private charter schools and it has been a problem.
The only qualification she has is her family has donated over 200 FUCKING MILLION to the GOP(Her family is the GOP's, Soros). That is insane, but instead of addressing that, the rubes want to play the left vs right bullshit.
That is the brilliance of the two party system, both sides are to busy pointing fingers and missing both sides taking turns fucking them in the ass.

All that tax money that goes to the dept of education should go directly to the local or state govt to run schools. The federal govt has wasted so much. Locals can run schools better than the wasteful federal govt.
 
I dont care that she's a billionaire. I don't care that shes wholly unqualified. I don't care that she is a big proponent of charter schools and thinks public schools are failures. i absolutely care that she thinks that charter schools shouldn't be held to the same standards of those "failing" public schools, and everyone should as well.

Really, though, a previous poster might have a point that Trump delegated the cabinet selections to a GOP team. Trump often bucks the party line but his "choices" read like the GOP'd deluded wet dream.

If the federal govt is totally out of the local schools, then the dept of education needs to be gotten rid of immediately.

Erik Prince is this woman's brother, for those that don't know.
They've got a racket figured out; different business, same model. That model is to legitimize a questionable service, oppose any oversight, donate large sums to crony politicians (Generally GOPers who believe any privatization is good) and funnel as much taxpayer cash to that service before public light is shone on your illicit dealings.

The corn nugget on top of the crap sundae is that her husband is President of Amway, the closest thing to a literal snake oil salesman a human could be.

Hopefully some honest Republicans cross party lines and cast this trash out, but I won't hold my breath.
 
If she gets confirmed people are going to know how much it costs to buy a cabinet seat.
