Nah, not really. Long term studies were done on some of his tariff's from his first term and they do not work like he and his defenders would like you to think. A study was done on a tariff on washing machines. The tl/dr of it was, imported washing machines went up in price (tariff cost passed onto the consumer.) This caused domestically made/sold washing machines to also increase in price because a new baseline was set. This also had a side effect of raising the cost of dryers because they were sold in pairs.

The consumer tax from this was $1.5 billion. But what about the new jobs created? The study found 1,800 new jobs were created, so each job essentially cost the consumer $815k in taxes.

Companies are starting to add a tariff line costs to bills now, but somehow a dude that cant even make money with a casino, and takes naps in public, has managed to convince the Rubes, tariffs will make your income taxes less. I can't believe people think that raising tariffs will not raise the cost of goods.
Time and Time again, there is real world data that shows tariffs are passed onto the consumer.
It is a quite a simple concept. It costs a company more to make or get a product. The company has three choices, make less money, lose money, or pass the cost on to the consumer.

anything over 70 percent is effectively a trade embargo. at this point even lowering it 100 percent won't make either country trade with each other.
