Economy Trump's April 2nd Tariffs

Trump made Canada buy bonds and then scare him by doing a coordinated sell off globally

I’ve never seen someone basically remove a century of international good will in a few months

Imagine making your closest ally an enemy for no reason at all lol

But he owned the libs
But they were never my friend
But they were importing fentanyl

Feel free to add your own ignorant statement here, the one that sells your friends out to your Leader.

Nothing bad has ever happened in history when this attitude prevails.

Did Xi cut down the tariffs against the US after Trump backed down on almost anything that matters?

Even if they do back off of them, they've already cancelled a bunch of contracts for meat, soybeans and natural gas.

If things revert to the way they were when Trump took office, a ton of US exporters are still going to be screwed.

Everyone should demand that politicians use blind trusts. They should be a legal requirement before being able to take office.

I’m not sure why it wasn’t written into law but I guess most presidents thought anyone that became president would have a moral compass. Trump shoved that out of the window and a lot more presidential norms.

The funniest is finding out that there was a presidential binder that told presidents how to act and every new leader added to it when they were in office. Who is the first person to ignore it and throw it lol?

Such bad oversight

why would they? US already showed their cards, they have the leverage now
they can put on export tax on items america needs until US take off all the tariffs. if these big tech companies could've move manufacturing out of china they would've done it by now.

Trump is getting absolutely slammed by media in Europe for his flip flopping, laughable economic "policies" (lets be honest, these aren't policies but just winging it and seeing what sticks) and retarded takes from his cabinet lmao

Basically US has become worlds laughing stock (again) - instead of making america great again, he's making america go back to bush jr. days where everyone made fun of USA cause of its dumb president ("fool me once shame on me, fool me twice, can't get fooled again" days)

fall of an empire - guess its chinas turn now to be n1 at the world stage
or some country from asia for sure, as south america/africa are too fucked, middle east is too retarded with its religious differences which they don't want to overcome, europe has a chance but its too slow to react to everything around it, russia is too dumb, india is still fighting 3rd world poverty with 1st world pollution + its work culture is laughable (all the good indians are working abroad, while the ones in india have tendency to lie about work done, not wanting to admit they don't understood the task at hand or that they even know wtf they're doing most of the time)

“The concept of making iPhones in the U.S. is a non-starter,” asserted Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives, reflecting a widely held view in the investment community that tracks Apple’s every move. He estimated that the current $1,000 price tag for an iPhone made in
China, or India, would soar to more than $3,000 if production shifted to the U.S. And he believes that moving production domestically likely couldn’t be done until, at the earliest, 2028. “Price points would move so dramatically, it’s hard to comprehend.”

Slave labor and dependency on China are both fine so long as I don't need to pay more for the new Iphone. Fuck MAGA.

I agree US shouldn't need China anymore and should start building everything in house..

Any reason why Trump capitulated? I thought he was going to bring those jobs here and force the companies to make the products here, that was the whole purpose of the tariffs right? Why the exemptions?

Looks like Trump got pushed around and the old man buckled under the pressure no?

What tangibly changed from tariffing China on everything to then making exemptions for many things that come directly out of China, all in the span of a week or so🤣

Did China make any exemptions or negotiate with the US for anything in particular for Trump to allow the exemptions?

Jesus Christ. They fucked up the market again.

Lutnick is yet another guy with a sterling reputation as a businessman, who's being exposed as a total fraud and an idiot.

The sooner that society comes to grips with how useless and parasitic most of the billionaire class is, the better.

It's funny because this either means he never had the ability and was overrated in the private sector or he has no aptitude for the public sector. No conservative wants to deal with the implications of either.
