Economy Trump's April 2nd Tariffs

I got news for you: A global economic crisis isn't something you recover from just like that especially with countries all over the world having lost trust in the US. The repercussions of this will last at least a decade and no company will make long term investments in the US now. Even if a democrat gets elected next, the US population is so schizo that no one will be able to trust you again. You literally have no idea of the irreversible damage Trump has already done. Besides that, he already tried to steal an election once, who says he won't try to run a 3rd time? He's been talking about it for months now the same way he talked about these tariffs. Like please use your brain for once
This is very hyperbolic

I agree.

I see people describing other people like this in various other threads, and it's wrong and disgusting.

It's tough because I could see where he's coming from and his frustration and anger is warranted but at the same time I try my best to see individuals as individuals and give everyone the benefit of the doubt and the chance to be introspective and admit mistakes.

My aunt for example, voted for Trump and loved that migrants were getting deported. She loves that federal government workers were losing their jobs. She loved that Trump was bringing "strength" back and getting rid of the "woke shit". She loved that "Trump is fixing the economy with his tariff plan". She didn't vote for Kamala because "she's a black woman, what does she know". Now my aunt, if you never talked politics with her, you would've never heard these views or this sort of rhetoric from her. Just a sweet old normie.

But once Trump and politics got involved in her life, she turned into a low intelligence, vile, spite ridden, inferior human being.

Now is she that human being, or is she exhibiting the traits of such a human being. I believe deep down inside, most people are well intentioned and mean well, but I also believe Trump and politics really has changed the game, there's definitely a mass psychosis of radicalization, indoctrination, confirmation bias, cognitive dissonance, agenda driven narratives, and probably the furthest division of "us vs them" that we have experienced.

Long rant but TLDR is I see where he's coming from and I understand but I personally wouldn't justify it to label an individual as such permanently. We have the capacity to change, it may take a while but people can change.

Would you continue to support Republicans after this epic failure?
I've voted for both parties before, but ultimately It's pointless to expect much out of either in this stage of American Imperium

We're basically a veiled plutocracy that pretends to be a democracy. Trump is a wild card that is momentary. But the system will remain in largely the same form regardless who's in the White House. Regardless of a Tariff conflict

Tell the people who planned to retire this year and whose 401k just went to the toilet to take a break from politics. The people who voted for this man are stupid and/or evil and I won't pretend otherwise.

A lot of retirees will be looking for work or those that were about to retire will be working longer I guess. Imagine seeing your retirement money flushed like this. Sad.

That's life I guess.

First--I'm on record that these Tarriffs are moronic. Just to get that out of the way.

But to these points specifically...if you're that close to retirement you should NOT have that kind of exposure to the markets if that's $ you're counting on as retirement income. Short time horizon means be in mainly fixed income, non (or even zero) volatility vehicles for your $.

So...sounds like a yes.

Tomorrow is going to be worse than Friday more than likely. Especially futures. My friend runs a team for Pennymac. They're already in the office ahead of tomorrow. Fun times.

50 countries and counting, lining up to negotiate.

There hasn't been many concessions at all tbh. Lining up my arse. It is more than likely countries will be looking to form an alliance elsewhere to strike deals and leave the US out to dry. This is the most craziest gamble I've ever seen in economics, especially in terms of isolating yourself and turning hostile towards great allies.

What is more worrying for Americans is Mr Donald Trump has bankrupted a whopping 6 times. Is this a man you would trust to handle your business with this track record?

I don't support either political party. I voted for Trump because he stated we wanted to secure the boarder and uninvolve us in foreign conflict

If that makes me evil, or retarded, or an evil retard then keep saying it. I'm just about done posting here anyways
I didn't say anything of the sorts towards you. I was just asking if you would continue to support Republicans.

I don't think everyone who voted for trump is an evil retard. I mean, I would really question their evil retard levels if they continue to support trump but I don't blame people for getting scammed, lied to, and fooled

Before you wiggle out of the argument and move goalposts, what is the intention of Trump's tariffs? Let's have it on the record.

Is the goal of tariffs to replace income taxes? Or to restore manufacturing jobs and bring in businesses made in America? Or to extract concessions on trade policy from other countries? If it's reciprocal tariffs and ie. Vietnam lowers to 0%, then US brings it to 0%, doesn't that mean cheap products from Vietnam will still be flooding the US markets, thus no new jobs or businesses moved to replace the ones in Vietnam?

That guy is the result of huffing glue, eating paint chips and engorging oneself in fat Republican cheeto dust.

How is this a reasonable response to that post? And a mod liked it too. What a toilet this forum is lately.
Not surprised most of the mods are pure trash trolls , but they’re being watched pretty closely. I hope they keep it up
