Economy Trump's April 2nd Tariffs

MAGA doggers are waiting for Tim Pool or Fox to spin it for them. So far they are going with the tried and true paid protester angle. Fox thought the Tea Party was some movement but these protests where like 1000 times the people the Tea Party Movement got. Mid terms are going to be a blood bath unless they cheat like North Carolina.
I been saying no matter what people say Elon through his satellites in space to handle a huge amount of rural areas internet. He could affect election results by controlling the data he even joked about I would not trust voting machines. That should have been a huge red flag for people. Even better thanks to Biden the nearly 3 billion has been appropriated no need to go through a messy budget debate.

I always knew Trump was dumb and lazy but this story even blows my mind.
Trump 1.0 at least he had some smart people surrounding him, now it’s a literal cast of the dumbest of dumb charlatans. It’s just a bunch of grifters who know if you kiss the old man’s ass, tell the old man how great he is, you can talk the old man into anything. Someone call the police, there is elder abuse going on at the White House.
There's a reason musk is trying to be in his space so much. More face time equals more favor

Eric Trump took down this post after tons of people went and complained. Maybe the few million who showed up to protest is getting them concerned? They are worse then any Karen ever was for sure.

I guess Trump is getting economic advice from serial Dumbfuck Peter Navarro.

What I don't get is the mixed message narrative he is sending with (Tariffs are here to stay vs. We are going to negotiate for preferable deals).

The latter completely undermines the premise of the former - if you are genuinely convinced that tariffs are a long term strategy to reform American manufacturing, then you can't suddenly say "We can strike a deal on tariffs with other countries". What manufacturing industry would invest the billions of dollars in domestic infrastructure if they thought that the tariffs were simply a means of negotiation.

You can't have it both ways. Either you believe this is an effort to transform the way trade is done, or you acknowledge that this is a strategic play to negotiate preferable trading arrangements.

And what expertise do supporters of tariffs have exactly?

Look, I acknowledge that I'm not an expert, but I'm smart enough to know when to listen to others who are. Virtually every economist and trade expert has condemned these tariffs as non-sensical (both in ambition, and the way they were calculated). I would rather trust Nobel Laureates than people telling me "Don't worry bro, trust in Trump, he's got this"

Honestly, it pains me some people are so stupid.

Nobody is saying that tariffs can't be an effective economic tool when used strategically, but there is universal condemnation of blanket tariffs on the entire fucking world (rooted in calculations that are not calibrated around the opposing tariff, but rather, the trade deficit).

I would go into a long explanation about comparative advantage, the need to protect domestic industries etc., but I know it will fall on deaf ears.

Great video explaining how tariffs on watches will destroy this man's small business. He breaks everything down step by step, including what he was paying before, and what he is expected to pay under the new tariff regime.

I can't wait for the swiss watch industry to be brought back to American Soil

I guess that what happens when the main qualification to work for the Trump admin is loyalty and being a yes man. The first admin had people that didn't always agree with Trump but thought it was their duty to serve their country. Most of them left and have since spoken out about how terrible of a President he was. The new admin is full of people that believe their duty is to serve Trump.

I’ve bought from that dude before.

Got an SKX007 years ago from Long Island Watch.

Excellent service, btw

Cans have been crying the last four years that everything was too expensive. But now that their daddy makes everything even more expensive they’re fine with. Lmao
2024: eggs are so expensive I could murder an entire family

2025: possessions are fleeting, true wealth comes from within, discard the material world for the good of dear leader

You haven't heard? The stock market was a bubble (I guess Bidenomics was actually an economic boom) so this is a much needed correction, recessions are actually good, higher prices will force people to be more disciplined with money which is a good thing, and the long breadlines will foster a sense of community. We should all be thanking Trump

Okay.

But when the entire world has blanket tariffs on us do you feel the slightest bit disadvantaged?

Acknowledge your point on trade deficit vs tariffs.

Take one example, say the automobiles. Are we playing on a level field?

"Losing money costs you nothing"

This is how MAGA are coping now.

Ps. This dude got exposed for being paid by Russia yet he still has an audience, let that sink in.

he's really quite the specimen.
