Trump V AOC & Twitter?

It seems to be the only focus so there might not be much more to criticisize on her beyond that.

In all honesty I expected to build a pretty big group of statements for AOC as well based on all the proclamations that she constantly says dumb stuff. I went thru every post in the 'Daily AOC says stupid...' thread, and found almost no quotes contained within it that would qualify. Most of it is bitching about her while saying she say and does dumb tuff with very little actually quoted or linked.

Yeah, it's similar to the same claims of stupidity toward Obama and Clinton, two generationallly intelligent politicians (admittedly more intelligent and precise than AOC). There is no possible politician that could rise from the left that they wouldn't try to claim is hysterical or dishonest by mere virtue of the fact that the figure engages in nuanced discussion and the detractors don't believe in nuance.

Because I'm a bit bothered by the lack of fairness in the thread, and don't feel it's the members job to fight for one side that wasn't represented fairly. That is self-defeating. Doesn't mean I agree it's not worse, I just don't agree with the representation.

That's fine. But you should have at least started with something then. 25 vs 0 is the textbook definition of a one sided thread.

the thread is meant to be collaborative. I am happy to mine the two existing threads on Trump and AOC but I won't find everything. If other people post them I will add them to the relevant t Trump or AOC posts. The problem is that there seems to be very little stupid that AOC has said and that is not just in comparison to the mountains of stupid stuff Trump says, often many times a day. I am talking in absolute terms. But if you have stuff I would be happy to post it.

Well that is exactly what happened. I wanted Trump and AOC posts to be back to back. But I got caught up in the massive amount of material in the Trump one and realized people started posting before I could reserve the second post. There were actually a shit load more Trump articles I could have mined to add a lot more but thought I would let people provide the AOC stuff so it could catch up a bit. I've honestly been looking for more AOC quotes using the same type of search terms I used for Trump and am finding nothing. I mean, I am see lots of bitching about how dumb she is but with almost no citations. It seems like a 'say it and will be true' type thing.

I asked @Ripskater directly to provide some quotes since he posted in another thread that he could not understand how she got elected being so crazy. Of course he has had no reply.

She showed a striking naivety of basic economics which makes me literally wonder if these University degrees in such things as Economics, like she has, are just Mc'Degrees, Everyone gets a degree if you simply hit attendance targets and pay your tuition.

SHe was literally excited thinking somehow she had kept $3B in the gov't coffers and out of Amazons hands and now that money could instead be given to teachers.

That is shockingly dumb and quite frankly dangerous for someone to think that way and unfortunately I think too many on the far left do. It goes to the idea that if you could cap a person's ability to accumulate wealth as say $50MM (as someone on this forum argued with me should be done) then the extra money they would have made (the billions) and that cannot now go to them, would instead go to everyone else.

Its this idea of zero sum wealth. That every dollar a rich person or company makes takes away a dollar from someone else. They simply cannot see that for Amazon to get the $3B in tax benefits they have to create far more than that.
