The strategy for each one of these scandals is so pathetically predictable. It didn't happen/gas light everyone and blame others for the offense you committed. Evidence comes out so you cop to a less serious offense and state that the other side commits much worse and try to deflect. The final stage is fuck you (perfectly cool and legal, and deflect).

You can predict this sequence nearly every time (on rare occasion they reverse course, blame Dems for blocking something great and pretend like it's their fault).
