Crime Trump-Ukraine Megathread v4

Not open for further replies.
Daily reminder:
  • Trump’s approval ratings haven’t changed (higher than Obama’s at the same point)
  • Nobody cares about this story, except they think Democrats are asshats
  • Trump will be re-elected
Have a nice day :)

Oof. Truth hurts.

Again I ask the Trump supporters, likely to no response, again:

Let's say all this happened on Obama's watch. He did and said all the same things, wrapping himself in the flag and grandstanding and taking credit.

Would you have objected?

I this k if this was the first time Dems had tried to get him impeached, I might be paying attention. But this is like the sixth time.

There comes a point you have to just tune iut the losers who are still trying to get a 3 year old election overturned.

Man, I'm not really a fan of this game simply because not only is the answer a foregone conclusion, it opens the door to them repeating all the same bullshit they said all during Obama's presidency and you just end up debunking that instead of staying on point. Having said that, if Obama had done any of the following, just 1 one of them, mind you, there would be an unending cacophony of outrage from this crowd, from the White House Propaganda Channel and Republicans:
Suggest it's ok to rough up perps when putting them in police cars,
Suggest it's ok to show up at people's houses and take their guns if they're suspected of being mentally unbalanced without due process,
Have private conversations with Vladimir Putin, completely off the record to the American government, but fully captured by the Russians,
Ask hostile foreign powers to dig up dirt on their political opponents,
Treat close allies with open hostility and impose illegal sanctions,
Hire is entire extended family,
Lose a civil fraud suit to the tune of $25 million for operating a fake university,( during the campaign, no less, IIRC)
Be caught saying "You can grab 'em by the pussy; you can do anything."
Be found to have actively recruited illegal immigrants to work in multiple companies,

And I'm not even half way through FFS.
Recent headshots would include,
I am the chosen one.
Extortion.

I mean, fucking Russia-gate is like 100 of these in a value pack, and you have people in here saying it was a con job. It's blind partisanship or ignorance or trolling, and I wish I had some way to know which. I like a discussion of this sort to be productive.

E.g. I think a much better discussion would be to discuss the reality of the Senate vote and how it might go, what might the Republicans really do if put to the question, etc.

put your dad back on the computer kid...

hahahaha, nobody will answer this. Shows how dishonest all the trump bots are
All I'm looking for is an un-nuanced yes or no.

But not all Trump supporters are blindly partisan hacks. I'm sure someone will engage the question this time.

This image is the perfect expression how embarrassingly little Trump has accomplished. Thanks Bob.

It’s funny, the only people who complain the wall isn’t 50ft tall and made of concrete, are democrats.

Weird...

Further to the above, "...the reality of the Senate vote and how it might go, what might the Republicans really do if put to the question, etc..."
As it stands, there's no way to have an honest discussion about this because so many here won't even concede the gravity and need for consequences for the president's actions.

Let's see if there are any real grown ups in here on the right side of the isle. Note that I am assuming an impeachment vote will succeed in the House since there are multiple pieces of corroborating evidence now. Let's see you say, ok sure, the president is corrupt, we can all see it, and now the question is, given the current reality of widespread blind loyalty to Trump, and consequent limp-wristedness on the part of Republicans in the House and Senate, how do you really think the Senate vote will go?

I'm asking the question as put precisely because I don't want a complicated, multi-subject response.
Focus.

A question isn't a game. I would love to see a straightforward answer.

See, without any response at all, you guys have complicated a simple question by yourselves.
Wtf.

My girlfriend is very anti-Trump, like most girls her age (22).

She came to me all fired up about how “You can’t support Trump anymore after all this!!!” I let her ramble for about 10 minutes, then asked what specifically she had that Trump did that was illegal.

She wanted to end the conversation once I started to ask about specific examples.

Here’s the problem liberals: many of you are rejoicing now because “We caught him!” The problem for moderates is you’ve said this before, and were dead wrong.

I’m waiting for more facts to come out. It appears grim for Trump at the moment, but the problem is our news is so corrupt and hateful it’s almost impossible to tell the truth from lies.

If I went off the first news only several innocent police officers would have been hanged for what ended up being self defense against black men.

Let’s quit jumping the gun and let the story play out.

I’ve asked this same question numerous times and it’s avoided like the plague. We already know the answer. They’d be calling for Obama’s head on a pike for treason. They’re not looking at this objectively. It’s a pure “Us vs. Them” mentality and as long as it’s they’re “owning duh libz” they’re fine with the president doing whatever he wants.

It’s funny, the only people who complain the wall isn’t 50ft tall and made of concrete, are democrats.

Weird...

Not complaining. I’m impressed and entertained at the level of choke Trump has exhibited once he got his shot.

If it happened under Obama I'd probably be annoyed sure, but I wuldn't be bleating on about impeachment.

Also the MSM would be ignoring it and the Dems would be laughing it off or possibly calling anyone with a problem with it racist, so there you are.

That's politics.

That's simply not true. The right certainly didn't like Obama, but you are lying to yourself if you think it was 24/7 ridiculous triggering for 8 years like the left and Trump.

It wasn't.

You guys have gone over the edge.

Any chance you want to approach the question with a simple answer?

All I'm looking for is an un-nuanced yes or no.

We’re not blindly partisan, but we don’t let partisanship go unanswered. If Democrats attack the man we elected President, then we will act as Republicans.

Here’s the problem with this scandal:
  • Dems have been calling for impeachment since before Trump was sworn in.
  • Democrats spent 2 years investigating Trump for nothing. Dems ignore Trump’s innocence and try to change narrative.
  • Democrats tried to smear Trump’s SCOTUS pick fabricating fake sex assault allegations.
  • Democrats made up a narrative about “kids in cages”
  • Democrats filed lots of frivolous lawsuit (almost always in Northern California) to hinder Trump’s agenda.
  • Trump wants to investigate the Bidens for what clearly looks like influence peddling. Democrats ignore Biden’s misdeeds and focus on Trump.
Do you see a pattern here? The recent attacks against Trump are just the latest partisan stunt. I will defend Trump, and I will give him a pass for pretty much anything he does to defend himself. Similarly, I will mock Democrats’ futile flailing. We realize what the Dems are doing and we’re not playing along. They can kiss our dicks.

Now, suppose Trump decided to invade another country, and got us involved in another war. Then perhaps I’d scrutinize his actions with a less forgiving eye. Suppose Democrats kept their mouths shut for 3 years and the MSM simply focused on facts rather than narratives. Then I might take accusations against him seriously. Maybe.

Anyway, we’re not “blindly” partisan. We’re partisan with 20/20 vision.

Not complaining. I’m impressed and entertained at the level of choke Trump has exhibited once he got his shot.

Again, this is another example of a liberal existing in fantasy land.

Trump was elected in part to secure the border. Back yard fence is being replaced by 30ft high steel barriers, hundreds of miles are done, and lots of $$$ has been secured to keep construction going.

This is somehow a loss to the left...

When you're in the position of having to argue essentially that all human communication is impossible in order to defend your position, that's a good sign that you're full of shit. But you knew that. I think the very implausibility of these Trumpist defenses is the point. You're showing how deeply you're in the tribe by trying to out-embarrass his other worshippers.

And when you have to argue that he meant x when he said y you are full of shit as well.
