Basically the idea is that whether political, economic, or academic elite, the rules don't apply to you. You get to do whatever you want, until the Masters of information, aka intelligence community decide to use that against you.

I would think there would have to be some indication and evidence of a crime, not just suspicions?

The WB complaint gave evidence on the Ukraine call so that was arguably fair game but I don't see the broader allowance unless there is very specific underlying reason.

Not at all. I just think that's where they've been storing all the communications they want to hide. If they get a subpoena to remove anything that doesn't meet that level of classification, if that's possible, it would make it clear how prevalent this type of impropriety has been.

I think intelligent people question lots of things.

I think it’s very prideful for one to not look into something multiple stable, healthy, intelligent people believe.

I don’t know if you used that question to try to weed out if I was a conspiracy theory nut or not, but I am a stable guy that challenges lots of commonly held beliefs. I believe that’s one of the ways science makes progress.

So I would agree it is possible, however unlikely, presidents aren’t really the ones holding the strings.

ya ok. I was hping maybe there is a reason. I doubt any court just generally demands a POTUS turn over discussion transcripts without a reason tied to evidence of a crime cover up. Perhaps if other whistle blowers come forward and highlight a pattern of abuse maybe then?

As far as I am aware, there’s no evidence that Clinton and the DNC knew that their law firm had hired Fusion GPS for opposition research nor that they in turn subcontracted Orbis (Steele’s company).

But I will concede it’s a a bit suspect, that’s why the DOJ is currently investigating it. If they find that the members of the DNC had direct knowledge of this, then they should face charges. Root out corruption on all levels, regardless of party.
