Social Trump threatens Bruce Springsteen

He's on his last legs selling out venues worldwide. Again, not something I'd listen to on a roadtrip but overrated is ridiculous.
He's old as hell, he's said he'll never retire but I doubt his body and voice hold out much longer. I walked around the venue and could hear him singing, I think it was The Promised Land and he just couldn't hit the notes anymore. For some fans, not really fans, just people who think the ritual of seeing a rockstar is cool, they'll keep coming for anything. Dylan sounds worse than anyone and people still fill stadiums for him.

One thing I resented about the last show was that I know I'm a bigger fan than 95 percent of the people in there and I was priced out. If it was a priority I would have gone, i never did like live shows anyways but I did decide to give it a shot at the last moment.

Troll thread should have been exposed on page 1.

You're slipping while I am traveling Sherbros.

The guy wrote an anti-American anthem decades ago, not at all surprised by this. The Taylor Swift tweet is more thread worthy in my opinion lol Imagine Trump speaking that out loud at a rally. "Anyone else notice that now shes NOT HOT?!"

Was it MEN in Manchester? That's such a gigantic venue I got lost, walked the entire way around before finding husband and nephews for RHCP.

Point being he's still a worldwide idol. Whether we follow him or not.

No, Seattle. I only go to shows if I go at all just out of a sense of loyalty. I never have enjoyed live shows. It's kinda a ritual and the music is never that clear and too loud. So, if someone wants to spend thousands seeing someone have at it.

I'm glad I saw Prince twice but if I were that interested, I could have seen him at least a couple more times. I just don't like the crowds and noise.

Donald Trump has angrily insulted Bruce Springsteen after the veteran musician said Trump was heading a “corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration”. Springsteen made a series of vehement speeches on stage in Manchester as he kicked off his latest tour, arguing that Trump was “an unfit president” heading up “a rogue government”...

“Sleepy Joe didn’t have a clue as to what he was doing, but Springsteen is ‘dumb as a rock,’ and couldn’t see what was going on, or could he (which is even worse!)? This dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country, that’s just ‘standard fare’. Then we’ll all see how it goes for him!”
......

MAGAts, are you OK with your president threatening an American citizen like this, for exercising his rights to free speech?
Jesus, HOLA…you are such a loser it’s just sad at this point.

Sorry, I meant Springsteen in Manchester that Mango Molester is so upset about.

Husband is a lifelong Prince fan me booking to see him in Vegas for a good 3 hours with only a 1000 odd people 20 years or so ago was pretty special. After we got there (from the UK) I paid extra for table service knowing he was notoriously late and me not being good stood in stilettos for hours.

I used to be fine with crowds but now at 50 I could think of nothing worse. I'm going to see Oasis and NIN in September, both with seats.

Trump is such a child
he can't do shit to a white american citizen and if he tried, white people do not let their icons get dogged anyways. I always worry about my black faves when they get into trouble because it's different for them, they might do some shit to smokey robinson, but they won't even try to touch bruce.

yes, that was his One Night Alone residency more than likely, I missed that one but I loved the live recordings from the time. He was a far superior musician and singer than he was in the 80's. I missed at least 3 other times when he came to my area, I regret it now so I made every effort to see Bruce for that very reason.

I don't know what you meant by manchester as in manchester england? I've never been out of the country.

I never liked crowds but it's gotten harder with age. But.., concerts almost always gave me a raging migraine. Seen some great ones too, I never enjoy it as much as I think I should. I love these guys but I just don't enjoy it like I enjoy their music.

Yes, Manchester England is the venue where Bruce played the other day that Captain Bonespurs is having a fit because he said some mean words.

The Prince one was the 3121 residency he had at Rio in Vegas. I adored Prince, just not to the level husband did so that was pretty special.

oh, ok, that had to be around 2007. During one of his vegas stints he met MJ who was looking for advice on a comeback, Prince told him to get rid of all the bells and whistles and just focus on the music. MJ didn't take the advice as is obvious from the rehearsals for this is it. Prince broke out crying when he got news of MJ's death which is touching because MJ pulled some underhanded shit on Prince and went out of his way to embarrass or make him look bad. I doubt if MJ would have cried if Prince went first.

Haven't watched any Manchester footage, I just read the words. Again, that kind of thing always will alienate a lot of people, like the colonel told Elvis, either way you'll be pissing off 50 percent of your audience. Elvis always deferred when asked stuff like that which happened sometimes in the 60's. Elvis was always more an existential hero than a vocal one. Either way, you either respect a guy that will make it plain or you don't. Bruce, for whatever his faults, never was afraid to piss off people or say "no" even if he lost a buck for it.

Nowadays, nothing he could do would hurt him, he has all the money he'll ever need as well as his kids and grandkids. So, it's not like the days when he was broke and told people to go to hell.

Are you talking about Born in the USA?

The song that was critical about the Vietnam War and how veterans were treated by the government when they got back?

This isnt the 70s, most people understand it to be a very American song

And his advesary in this case, Private bonespurs was against the war too as so much as his feet hurt, called veterans suckers and losers, insulted servicemen like the late Senator McCain, and oh, just cut 8k jobs from the VA.

the song was widely misinterpreted, the music didn't really fit the lyrics, which is sometimes a thing with bruce, he mixed the triumphant and the dismal at times, usually in upbeat numbers like Badlands. It was seen as patriotic and in it's way it was but it was easy to miss what the song was actually saying. Bruce also ate up the attention from it and had no problems wrapping himself in the American flag at shows.

As far as the anti-nam thing, people never forgave Muhammad Ali for saying he wouldn't go and of course they'd never forgive Jane Fonda or Bruce for their opinions either.

he's getting old, he didn't just fall, I think he had to delay his last tour a couple times in the US. I know he wants to go on forever but I think he'll balance that out with whether or not he can still put on a show worth money. Lots of old musicians perform well past when they can actually execute.

Musicians are all different too, some love live shows and some hate it. MJ claimed to hate touring and indeed, the pressure of the last one killed him. No telling how he would have done but probably not that well as far as the 50 shows he was supposed to do. Bruce is probably doing better than most musicians/rockers his age but he's definitely losing his voice which should be more important than his physical movement for a performance.

It's awesome how you fannies will literally turn on anyone if directed.
yup, he's said a lot of things over the years to piss off factions of america. His song 41 shots got the cops pissed at him, they still have it in for him from what I hear. He's made a lot of people angry talking against trump and I'm not even really sure what the actual verbiage people hate from him but it's enough to where he's called a commie and people want him out of the country. Lot different than how he was seen back in the 80's.

Since you are a fan I love this song.
