In 2011 Epstein tried to "hire" one of the Mara Lago member's daughters. Trump caught wind and banned him from all Trump properties and cut all ties, never to be seen with him again. If someone has blackmail material on you, you don't get to cut all ties, just ask Bill Gates and Bill Clinton.

I'm pretty sure Trump kicked him out in 2004 or 5, right around the time that Giuffre girl who worked at Mar-A-Lago was recruited by Maxwell. Epstein also had an investigation opened against him for soliciting a minor. Epstein was already a registered sex offender by 2011, I'd be surprised if Trump waited that long to distance himself from the guy.
