Basically everybody has FB and their accounts were analyzed for Russian targeting bots with the scripts and stories they wanted to confirm their biases.
I'm not shocked at all, it's pretty well documented. I think a large part of this is pride; who wants to admit that they were played like a Moscow fiddle?

I guess I was shocked at how completely they were turned into tools. They embraced it.

Putin is not any worse than previous American presidents, I like how west leaders love to call him a murdering dictator, when he has been elected and the west has waged a bunch of absurd wars in the past decades.

There is no danger of Trump in Office, Russia and US have been forcing their influence in middle east for a very long time, talks between presidents is a good thing the overreaction from Americans that cannot accept Trump as president is silly

Trump may be abrasive and stupid but he is being held accountable for any action and that is a positive with any politician. Previous presidents could operate without any repercussion and that is far more dangerous.

There is no disaster or war coming with Russia because of Trump, stay calm.

Does anyone think there is the possibility that Trump is our useful idiot in a totally accidental way? The great danger I see with Trump is the possibility of him accidentaly and stupidly bringing disaster upon us due to what can only be called complete ineptness so far as being president is concerned. This Russia thing could be one of those cases obviously.

Cant the opposite also be true? Isn't it possible that Trump could stupidly (his basic level of qualification at this post) or selfishly (due to financial ties to Putin or Russia) create an opening for the US and Russia to become allies in the future?

I get that Putin is a murdering dictator but is Saudi Arabia better? how about Israel and their dealings with the Palestinians? Do we have to be mortal enemies with Russia?

Keep in mind I said stupidly and selfishly because I really think the average human being could do better than Trump has done in almost any area of the presidency. I mean that.

All I am saying is that even a mentally ill person is going to do something right sometimes even if it is totally or partially for selfish motives. I understand the dangers of having Trump in office, that is my basic starting place with Trump, but from there some good may come.
