International Trump/Putin Summit

I would bet my entire life's savings on Trump not being able to locate Cuba on a map.

Heck, give me 2:1 odds and I'd bet some serious coin that he can't locate Russia either.
Even odds he points at PR, he probably knows it's an island off the coast somewhere

For the record . . . the US Federal network(s) are targeted by foreign hackers all of the time . . . this is NOT limited to the Russians by any means.

In short, I think that, given Trump's weaknesses and Castro's strengths, the Cuban Missile Crisis would have ended with Trump giving away Florida & Puerto Rico to Cuba and then dropping a bomb on Washington DC out of sheer contrition.

Might still happen.

Quite so.
Regardless of source, we can't ignore it. We gotta shut that shit down

Don't you understand that if we shut down the 400lbs men hacking America from their basements then we'll have to go to war with Russia???? You fucking clueless libs

@Fawlty @Trotsky @Rational Poster @JosephDredd @HomerThompson

You know the sad thing about this? There is a chance he actually thinks this way
He has no understanding of history at all. Could you imagine him, for instance, trying to read three pages from a history textbook? I don't think that he "thinks" in such a way as to eliminate the past and just talk about today, like it's not a philosophical or strategic thing. He just actually has to be reminded that the Cuban Missile Crisis occurred, because it has not soaked into his brain as a part of world history well enough that it's in the set of things his brain puts on standby when related topics come up.

You know how when a subject comes up, your brain kind of preloads a whole lot of things that are related to it, so that you can recall them if they become relevant to the conversation? That only happens if you have a connection to those things, because they have left an impression on you, and didn't just whiz past you like a highway billboard. Well, history whizzed past Trump in that way. That his brain doesn't have a check for the "Cuban Missile Crisis" module when the "Historical US-Russia relationship" program is running, well, that's bigly sad.

✓ praise dictators with awful human rights records on foreign soil
✓ attack Bill of Rights freedoms at home
✓ attack the free press
✓ pretend anyone could have committed the election interference that never happened, oops it happened
✓ make bizarre statements, walk them back
✓ create chaos and instability by criticising friends and sucking up to enemies

... so! much! winning!!!

Yeah, but we also found Russian spies at the NRA and other places so.. it's entirely different.

Definitely . . . there was a time when Asian hackers had infiltrated one of the Federal networks a few years back. Made my job fun.

You really think the NRA is the only organization to be associated with a spy?

I think the NRA is the only organization currently we've caught a spy in, and they also happen to be Russian spies.

This is painful. This is beyond a cry for help. I'd say you need a new brain, but you'd just mistreat it as badly as you do this one.

-Hillary Clinton never sold anyone uranium
-the military didn't need rebuilding
-Trump has increased the debt by a trillion dollars in the shortest time span in American history and is constantly wiping out any gains the stock market has made during his presidency IN ADDITION TO starting a worldwide trade war
-he's not creating more jobs... this is the lowest job growth has been since 2010
-ISIS controls more of Afghanistan than it ever has because of Trump's idiotic military actions
-his plan to build the wall was so stupid that Republicans stopped touting it a decade ago after countless studies showed it wouldn't work
-America is a laughing stock in the eyes of the world ( and most of America): a minority of Americans are proud that they've elected someone as dumb and destructive as they themselves are

Pull your head out of your ass, please. Or at least stop posting lies.

I bet Trump thinks Leif Erickson is the father of Erik The Red.

He doesn't have the app for US/Russia history

@Jack V Savage @HomerThompson @Rod1 This actually popped into my mind at work yesterday. Trump's "relations with Russia have never been worse" got me thinking of the Cuban Missile Crisis and how he would have handled it.

But then, after awaking from the blackout I suffered from existential panic, my mind shifted to how he would deal with Fidel Castro. I mean, clearly the guy has a strong affinity for autocrats and can be swooned by the sexiness of authoritarian power. But guys like Jong Un, Jingping, and Putin -- all whose stocks/countries have benefited bigly from Trump's being a dumb fuck -- aren't exactly that iconic. Castro, on the other hand, had legendary charm and charisma. He was so iconic that he was beloved as a celebrity in the United States even after he got in bed with the Soviets.

In short, I think that, given Trump's weaknesses and Castro's strengths, the Cuban Missile Crisis would have ended with Trump giving away Florida & Puerto Rico to Cuba and then dropping a bomb on Washington DC out of sheer contrition.

There is no chance in hell someone like Trump gets elected in any other era though.
