International Trump/Putin Summit

From Politifact (2016):

"We spend about 75 percent of the entire cost of the military aspect of NATO."

Bernie Sanders on Thursday, April 14th, 2016 in the Democratic debate in Brooklyn, N.Y.

By NATO’s count, total defense spending of all NATO members stood at about $900 billion in 2015 in current dollars. The United States’ share was about $650 billion. Do the math, and the percentage comes to about 72 percent.

the defense of Trump lying about how much NATO contributes is that Sanders knew the right number?

Astounding.

No, you're confused.

(1) No one has presented evidence that Trump is "lying" about how much the US contributes.

(2) Bernie Sanders has made the same criticism of NATO that Trump is making.

Right here! Where is this 90% number coming from???

Politifact says the number was 72% in 2015.

Military budgets can be calculated in many ways. For example, if one includes pensions paid to veterans, the US share would increase. Different calculation methods can yield a large range from 50% to over 90%. Trump is choosing the upper end of that range for rhetorical effect.

He said a number that is blatantly not correct. Is that in any sort of doubt?

So lying or stupid. Which is it?

Anything Trump does must be defended, lying, cheating, traitorous conduct, Truly a sick cult of personality.

A successful meeting with President Putin happened.

The media and the anti-Trump people are freaking out again. Is normal.
Thats why everyone, including Faux news, criticized it, and Drumpf is back tracking. Try again.

Firstly, he's fucking stupid if he actually believes that hyperbole.

US-Russia relations are very poor right now.

(1) Pompeo said Trump's airstrikes killed 200 Russians. Putin called the attack a "violation of international law" and an "attack on a sovereign state." Konashenkov says the attack was a "grave violation" of the 2015 military operations agreement.

(2) Trump authorized the sale of $47 million in anti-tank missiles to Ukraine. In response, Russia's deputy foreign minister called the US "an accomplice in fueling a war."

(3) Trump ordered the expulsion of 60 Russian diplomats from the US less than three months ago. This was in response to the alleged poisoning of ex-spy Sergei Skripal in Britain. Sergei Lavrov called the move "obnoxious" and promised a response.

(4) Trump imposed new sanctions on seven Russian oligarchs and 17 top Russian government officials three months ago to punish Russia for interference in the 2016 election.

Elizabeth Rosenberg, a former sanctions official in the Obama administration, described the penalties as “fairly muscular” and predicted that more sanctions are probably coming.

“This list sends a very clear signal to Putin himself that we’re not afraid to go after your friends and their children,” said Alina Polyakova, a Russia expert at the Brookings Institution. “There is some real thinking in this.”

(3) and (4) happened just three months ago. You people seem to have extremely short memories.

No, it's incumbent on you to use your brain and realize that different methods of calculation yield different results.
