Law Trump just pardoned 1.5k rioters and Proud Boys.....

Any yet many of them committed ZERO assault but was expected to stay jail forever? Either way... 4 years in jail was enough. Done and done. On to the next news cycle.
Can you point me to examples of people at the Capitol that day sentenced to four years or more who were not charged with violent crimes, by any chance?

Who? Most of the people like that got no jail time, or maybe 30-45 days or something.

This is literal cult member logic.

I somehow missed this post until now.

No, this is simple cause and effect. These pardons didn’t happen in a vacuum, they are a reaction to Trump’s baseless threats.
—There’s no evidence that Milley did anything wrong, but Trump has hinted that he deserves death.
—There’s no evidence that Liz Cheney did anything wrong, but Trump has hinted at putting her through a military tribunal.

Being ok with this is cult member logic. Trump supporters are basically the the people in Stanley Milgram’s famous shock experiment, who would brutalize innocent people just because some authority figure said they should. They are like the guards in the Stanford Prison Experiment except even worse, because they intentionally desire power for the express purpose of hurting others.

You all excused a literal coup but think I should be upset about how a POTUS issues a pardon?
As long as you keep targeting innocent people, we’ll keep trying to defend them with whatever means we need to, and I won’t be feeling bad about that shit one little bit.

For the one who was just arrested, since he was pardoned can Jan 6 even be used against him? If it was clemency or commuted then it could still be used against him right?
No. He got a full pardon. But his history of domestic abuse and other instances of him attacking cops will be considered

So when you’re sentenced to say 10 years you actually only serve 8.5 years if you do your full sentence, and depending on the state, over crowding, etc you could do as little as 1/3. My question is is the 1/3 based on the 10 year sentence or 8.5? Just so I can math it out.
Thats a good question. I'm not positive. I'd assume it's of the 10

Proud Boys!? But I've been told they're really scary!

If the herd would have had any sense they might have played this more cleverly but by pushing the dishonest insanity so hard for years it kind of played Trump's hand and instead of bothering to treat each case individually he pushed back more dramatically... Everything "the occupiers" (for lack of a more encompassing term. The deep state, the swamp, the tool masses, etc) have done has backfired!

No shame on my part voting for Trump who is by all intents and purposes, doing EXACTLY what he promised.
Fairs fair, you’ve got to give it to Trump for this. He did promise to do some pretty outlandish things (end the war in Ukraine in one day, lower groceries prices, a few others) but in terms of things that were directly within his powers to execute the dude got moving and delivered on all of those promises.

This guy got pardoned.

Didnt realize wearing an offensive sweater was a capital offense.

And I didn’t read beyond here.
Sorry, if you can’t be bothered to read my posts, I won’t be bothered to read this shit either.

Biden commuted the sentence of actual murderers.... Who killed innocent people, including children

Condemn Biden first and then come back here.

Personally? Most of these protestors deserved some kind of punishment... but many of the sentences were extremely excessive. 22 Years? There's felons who've murdered children who have gotten less than that.

But meh... I don't care for the most part anymore and a majority of US Citizens don't either. Otherwise, Trump wouldn't' have been elected.

Stop comparing J6 to Pearl Harbor and 9/11.... It's ridiculously hyperbolic and stupid. lol

It's not, but what he was convicted of wasn't a "capital" offense either, but it was against the law.

<Fedor23>

Ok. But what does his sweater have to do with his charges?

I think this is one issue that probably has more agreement than a thread like this would indicate. There's probably a large overlap of people on both sides that would agree violent offenders shouldn't be pardoned. At the very least most can probably meet on that point.

Ideally a case by cade basis would be the best result. But overall after 4 years a blanket pardon is probably better than a blanket conviction.

Stop. You know why you put his picture up and not the guy with the hat.
