An Amicus brief in this case is saying "Hey, we're friends of the court and we believe that the President does NOT have 100% blanket immunity.

Yep, that's right... I'm referring their argument stemming from Article II Section 1, Clause 1 of the constitution.
I don't fully understand the mechanism through which granting absolute immunity would cross this clause.

I know several republican lawyers. I went to school and Louisiana and clerked for the 5th Circuit in Houston. I probably know more right leaning lawyers than left leaning.

That being said, most of them are off the Trump bandwaggon, and have been for some time. Can't really say I've spoken to any of them about these charges though. Honestly, politics usually don't come up. I can only think of one guy I know, who's a lawyer in Houston that I met while in the Marines. Good friend, we shoot the shit a lot. He thinks Trumps likely guilty, for what his random opinion (or mine) is worth.
