They were the senior policy analyst for the Bipartisan Polocy Center, lobbying for updated regulations to make it possible for nuclear waste to be repurposed used to power nuclear reactors.
Britton was Director of Legislative Affairs and then Director of Global Political Strategy for a nuclear waste disposal company called Deep Isolation.
Britton also had previous experience at the Breakthrough Institute, which is an environmental research center along with a couple of other research centers.

True, but Trump did make an effort to pick qualified people last time. He had crazy bad turnover and obviously was a corrupt buffoon himself. Running things like a dictator (and prizing personal loyalty over all other considerations) is going to be bad in predictable ways but also unpredictable ways, as we just won't have the organizational quality in many areas to deal with normal problems that arise. The one good thing from all this is that I do expect to see another, bigger pendulum swing toward valuing cool competence, as we'll again need a big cleanup job in four years.
Having worked in HHS for going on 30 years, being an MD shouldn't really lend any credence to that pick IMO. Being ASH is a glorified PR position for the Commissioned Corps that completely backfired with the "first 4-star female" crap.
The majority of the left need some serious introspection. Some understand this after seeing the silent majority come out in the election and wholeheartedly reject them. Many are stubborn, and will continue to spew venom at anything Trump related. Just like when a child is having a temper tantrum, you just leave them alone and let them exhaust themselves.
