Opinion Trump and the UFC - Neutral Take...

I find it very distasteful since I don't care for Trump at all but on some level the UFC owes a debt to him for the fact that he allowed them in his venues when the sport was young and stigmatized. And it’s his company so Dana can do what he wants, certainly other entertainment entities won't make their political preferences a secret so I guess Dana's entitled to do the same with his firm.
Dana doesn’t own the UFC (at least not a majority shareholder). He represents the company, and manages it. But it’s not his. Pedantic maybe…..

People really care about this? Are leftist politicians not allowed at UFC events? Seems like some people can't stand seeing Trump portrayed in a positive light. I'm not seeing how it is propaganda when Trump's already been elected. It was a positive moment that could bring people together. Kaepernick kneeling was a divisive move meant to disrespect this country over a made up issue. The same people upset about Trump going to a UFC event defended that piece of shit Kaepernick's attention whoring.

"information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view."

That definition does not hinge on the person being already elected or in power. Governing bodies produce propaganda routinely.

You think in terms adequate to a manchild, not a rational adult.

"You lost the culture war!" - even to interpret a situation in those terms evinces the buffoonery of treating political and social issues as if they were sports competitions, us against them.

It must be comforting to act like there was no culture war after you already lost it.

This, because he made an appearance? He's been going to UFC fights for decades.

Are you dense or just have an allergy to reading? I have no issue with him going, or them showing him going, any more than any other celebrity or public figure.

American political discourse in 2024 ladies and gentlemen.

What's even sadder is that so many here it's about being a "lib" and having "Trump derangement syndrome".

As if saying a sports league shouldn't be used as a political platform has anything to do with that.

Yeah unfortunately listening to Americans argue about politics has become increasingly like listening to kids argue on Fortnite.

They didn't want it

But the left complain now it's here and not only the things they agree with?
Actually, this thread shows up the full hypocrisy of the left.

Celebrity endorsements, people with power having their say fine, until some of them aligned right. Then it's not OK.

Weird that

The UFC and many fighters as well as fans seem to be in competition to see how far they can get Trumps dick down their throat. I don’t even live in the US and don’t pay any attention to have an opinion on the politics side of things but the shit gets old when you’re just trying to watch some fights.
If you don't even live in the US where are you over reacting and making a fool of yourself in a manner similar to Rachel Zegler?

duped the special needs right
It amuses me how the self anointed geniuses "smarter than everyone else" on the far left don't realise this exact attitude is a large part of the reason they lose these elections :D

tbh politics either way shouldn't be on a sports broadcast imo.

But if players/fighters/athletes want to talk to the press on their own watch or put stuff on social media then that's freedom of speech and I'm fine with that as I can just choose not to follow them.

I just don't want American politics pushing down my throat when I'm here to watch people appease the JBG.
