What's funny is that I don't particularly like Trump, yet I don't have any issue with the UFC giving him the Taylor Swift at the Superbowl treatment. Frankly, the fact that he's a UFC "fan" makes him more endearing to me and is one of his few (very few) redeeming qualities. Hell, lots of unsavory people are UFC fans. Kadyrov comes to mind.
This Kaepernik comparison is false equivalency, imo. The whole knee thing was a decision by the athlete and team, and as I recall, the NFL didn't explicitly endorse it. In fact, they changed the rules to require standing, with the option of waiting in the locker room. In order for your tenuous NFL analogy to work here, you would need someone like a Roger Goodell to take a knee right there by Kaepernik's side. We all know that would never fucking happen.
