1: If you concede the fact that economic activity in an area is beneficial to that area, I'm afraid you're not going to be able to disprove the notion that you're attempting to disprove.

2: You have yet to even present your argument, so there's no reason for anyone to believe it to be persuasive as of yet. Your reluctance to state your argument confesses a lack of confidence in the arguments veracity.

On extending my sympathy towards big cats, especially lions, being subject to human hunting as they themselves are hunters?

Are they not subject to the cruelties of nature already? Are they not misogynistic and oppressive masters of infanticide?

I've laid out the case why Trophy Hunting deserves some scorn.

Hunting for great imo but the problem with Trophy Hunting is the 'Trophy' part.

Mankind with its technology aided hunts and high tech weaponry have taken any and all sport out of it.

Drones used to do the tracking, and improvement in guns make it simply a 'kill' and not a 'hunt' and calling it hunting for those type of trophy hunts is becoming perverse. Seriously just catch the animals in cages and let a 'Trophy Hunter' walk up and shoot it instead of playing the game that they big bad skilled hunters.

But the bigger problem is how bad mankind is for healthy animal populations.

Trophy hunters like to claim they are good for conservation when in fact they make entire species weaker and more sickly and regress evolution wise.

Man is the only alpha hunter that targets the healthiest in any herd or pack and picks them off instead of targeting the weakest. That flips evolution on its head where the best adaption to survive is being the weaker more sickly looking one and that is exactly what we see happening in areas where Trophy hunters are common.

I have friends who hunt and they lament the lack of top quality, point scoring Bucks now compared to a few decades ago. They seem oblivious to their role in that.

And I hope you are vegetarian because if you buy meat at grocery stores or in restaurants you are way off base. A vegetarian/vegan can make that argument with no inconsistency but no meat eater can as hunting your meat is way better, in every way than buying it retail. Next best is farming your own. Then buying from a local farm.

It depends sometimes those trophy hunters are killing animals that need to be killed anyway and providing income for one of those animal conservation places. Rogan talks about this on his podcast a lot. I'm sure all of them aren't like this but some are.

Even if true, human hunters still target the best specimens, the biggest, strongest of the herd or pack. I've never seen or heard of any purposely targeting the weak even in sustenance hunting for food.

Well good on you on being selfless as the next hunter in the next blind will be happy to take that bigger better deer when it continues down the line.

As i said, I don't hate on hunters who eat what they kill. They are better then us grocery store dwellers, myself included, even when we try to buy local and avoid factory farming. But the way we humans hunt DOES hurt long term health of the populations as the healthiest strongest animals are the prized kill and thx to technology we are the only predator to cause regression in evolution. And it has happened and is happening now.
