International Trump Admin accidentally leaks Yemeni war plans....

Some do but I don't see what this has to do with anything.

You don't want them to admit they made a mistake? You'd prefer to just be mad about it?

I believe in that actions should have consequences and this contained several cases of incompetence so clearly something should be done about it, not just say "oups" and move on.

Admittedly, I haven't read a thing beyond a few posts and the title of the thread, but this just sounds like sensationalist garbage, I'm just having a hard time discerning if it's from the media or the admin which is concerning.

That isn't to say this "leak" doesn't hold true information, but I question if it was accidental.

It’s about their incompetence in risking American lives by not being thorough in their process - highlights their recklessness for the world to see
A combination of incompetence and gross negligence, I'd say. What's clear to me as someone in the infosec industry is that they have no real security posture to speak of, have probably never even heard of defense-in-depth, obviously don't follow security best practices (BCPs), don't respect government classification levels, and have no concept whatsoever of their own unique threat model. The consequences are grave but this administration doesn't seem to comprehend the sheer severity. It may take a total catastrophic failure across the board for them to finally wake up. They're already headed in that direction now.

This has gotta be a wake up call before something worse happens.. if this stuff still goes on beyond this point, I don’t even know what to say.. it’s beyond negligent.

They are lucky it was just some reporter.. who is to say they haven’t already fucked up before this and “accidentally” included someone even worse.

It’s so embarrassing and awful - goes way beyond just political parties bickering.. this stuff has very real stakes. American lives.

Definitely not accidental...they used a commercial app on their cell phones to discuss classified highly sensitive info...that is just idiotic ...the question is why...they have access to any number of secure communication devices.

So the answer is no you don’t want to hold people accountable - lol

Now you might understand what the posts are about, bud.

You don’t actually agree with me.
No, thats not been my answer. I get that you want to put words in my mouth but I said nothing of the sort. I literally said they need to admit their fault. If they fucked up, they need to admit their mistake and own up to it.

I think you know that nothing will come of it. Whats the precedent? Do you want the Trump justice department to investigate? Or some committee headed up by Jasmine Crockett? I think you're just gearing up to be upset about the nothing you know will happen.

Agreed. Oh, it'll get worse. Much worse. These idiots have only been in office for 9 weeks and look at the damage they've already done to us economically and militarily. No wonder their members are avoiding town halls lol.

I asked you a very direct question and you would not answer it - then you say “I never said that” - I mean, you kinda did when you wouldn’t answer a direct question lolol

I’m not commenting on predictions of what will happen.. I’ve been saying what SHOULD happen. This type of negligence should have a price - people should lose their jobs. It cannot happen.

I’d suggest you have higher expectations for your government’s leaders - that is to say if you are even an American. I never know on here.

Exactly. im finding it very difficult to believe all these plans were leaked with a journalist unknowingly being apart of the group chat.

Like this just sounds like utter bullshit.

Yes, they're idiots.

Signal isn't a commercial app it's free open source software that's been independently audited and reviewed. The project relies on donations and grants. Leading security experts and cryptographers like Bruce Schneier highly recommend it and it's actually been in use in the senate since 2017. Obviously though it was never intended for military operation correspondence since it involves top secret level classified info. Standard operating procedure for that would've been to do it in a SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility). That's what they were designed for.
