International Trump Admin accidentally leaks Yemeni war plans....

I'm talking about reveling in mishaps and not giving an inch on anything. Which both sides are equally guilty of. We can talk about Trump if you like but that's not what I was commenting on.
I quoted a comment you made about the administration not taking accountability for what it does. And when I say revel I mean if Trump gets away with doing something shitty he is applauded. So my comments do stand.

The Government has bleeding edge encryption for communications between cabinet members.

BUT...

All of that information is official record and can be recalled for Congressional investigation.

Signal (an open-source program) on a private phone is a way to go around all of the "rules".

This is pathetic by any measure and the sad part is that no one (that should) will lose their job.

You know what's REALLY scary?!?

If Trump REALLY had no idea what's going on.

This is a gigantic fuck up by Hegseth that could've compromised the entire military operation. The use of Signal obviously wasn't appropriate for sharing such highly classified information. A SCIF should've been used. That said, Signal has been used by our government for many years now to communicate less sensitive information particularly among the senate. It was approved for use there 8 years ago under the first Trump administration.

they're amazing. although at our age (I think we're within 5 years of each other) I don't know if its possible to get the same joy out of them as when I was younger. Shrooms and some true besties and a case or so of okish canned beer *deeeep nostalgic sigh
I hear it best around someone who isn't just in case you trip balls and need help

I'm 47 btw

Yeah, okay. The full story’s not even out. Meanwhile there’s so much infighting with the Democrats that they’re eating their own.
Democrats fight each other because there is difference of opinion, Republicans used to be the same before Donald J Trump came to town

Neither side likes to give an inch, and each side celebrates when the other falters in some way. The days of honest discourse are over.

More of the same mindless "both sides!" crap that got us here in the first place.

This would be a huge scandal if these were Democrats. Several cabinet members would end up fired. And there is a good chance the VP would be forced to resign or impeached if he refused. It would leave huge stain on the legacy of the President.

It's just another Monday with Trump. No one will be fired, forced to resign, or impeached. MAGA will call it a nothing burger. And it'll just be another scandal in a unprecedented line of scandals that will be forgotten about after the next scandal.

Members of the Trump administration coordinated highly sensitive Yemen war plans on an unsecure group chat, which accidentally included Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, he wrote in a report for the publication on Monday.

White House National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes shared with ABC News the statement he provided The Atlantic confirming the veracity of a Signal group chat, which Goldberg said included Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

"At this time, the message thread that was reported appears to be authentic, and we are reviewing how an inadvertent number was added to the chain. The thread is a demonstration of the deep and thoughtful policy coordination between senior officials. The ongoing success of the Houthi operation demonstrates that there were no threats to our servicemembers or our national security," Hughes said in the statement.

The Pentagon referred questions about Hegseth’s participation in the Signal discussion and the sharing of attack plans to the National Security Council and the White House.
