Rumored Tresean Gore next to face Bo Nickal.

Building a career is ok. Fighting people with similar experience, but with less success and no elite skills is an odd choice. This is highlight reel generation not a test
To be fair, you dont ruin a top prospect 0 matching him up with another undefeated top prospect, he wont face a hyped 4-0, 5-0 guy that actually has a good chance a beating him, thats like booking Ryan Garcia vs Tank Davis back to when both had like 9-10 fights, you dont do that, Nickal will face competition with similar pro experience until he absolutely has to step up with ranked fights, expect the Omalley treatment minus the Vera fight.

This is a VERY reasonable stepup. Dont know why people here are whining. Gore is decent he just choked out Fremd whos decent himself.

He has good TDD, has submissions and power standing. This is actually rare terrific matchmaking by UFC.

If you mean in freestyle wrestling then not really. At U23 Worlds he faced Shamil Zubairov, a Dagestani and a cadet World champion, National champion, and later senior Worlds silver medalist, and beat him. So let’s keep it real.

Or maybe you mean in mma and not freestyle wrestling?
Zubairov is not dagestani

I like it, decent step up of sorts (is it? Dunno if Gore is better than Pickett to be honest).

Nickal should get him out of there inside 2 rounds but Gore can crack.

Just because you're a big name prospect doesn't mean you fight top ten fighters within your first 5 fights. What kind of crack are people smoking? Some just want to hate.

Gore is a perfectly appropriate fight for Bo. This is good booking - some people here are clueless. Should he fight Neal Magny or something because there is hype behind him?

If you're taking up prime main card spots and being given more marketing resources than guys like Shavkat, yes.
Want to tune up against cans?
Stick to regionals or the early prelims.

Indeed Gore provides cage time, but he has very little to offer wrestling wise against Bo.

I would like to see him get brought up gradually, and I hope some of these guys will have wrestling as their main foundation.
You all might be getting fooled.
Maybe Gore is the one they are bringing up slowly.
Feed him Bo Nikels. A tasty snack for the future two division champ.

Placement on the card has nothing to do with skills.

so the sean o'malley approach ?
keep feeding him cans to make him look good then give him 1 top ranked guy
then dana says 'hey this kid is 8-0, he deserved a TS'

I see some people trashing the fight but I would say it is a good next step against an opponent Bo should handedly beat. But, if he isn't careful Tresean could take his head off. I think some of you are expecting Bo to get a top 5 guy as his next fight and you need to realize it is his fifth mma bout.

This is stupid.

They're going to keep giving him guys that won't challenge him. A guy like Bo would learn a lot more from a loss to a counter-wrestler with power than he will from a win vs a guy without good defensive wrestling.

Is there a chance he gets put down hard? I mean yeah, I guess, but they wouldn't have made this fight if they thought Gore was going to be a tough fight for Bo.

When he finally does fight contenders, he may find himself in trouble if it doesn't immediately go his way, because he's faced zero adversity thus far.

Bo is 4-0, this is a very appropriate fight to take for him currently. Who would you suggest he fight instead, certainly not someone on GM3's level?

Someone that will actually put up a good fight and force Bo to do more than just wrestle.

See Ben Askren for what happens when a guy never learns anything else because wrestling carries them through.

See Khabib for what happens when a guy with great wrestling rounds out his game.

Are they still mad at gore for losing TUF? This is a brutal mismatch. THIS IS TREASON! Gore holds his chin out like an Easter island statue and Bo is likely to throw some hellacious power shots from the first bell. Gore did manage to wretch a good win from his last fight but he was not looking great prior to the sub.
