"Transgender tween enters dating world"

But the decision itself should be made at 10? Why are these parents focusing and so proactive on their child's sexuality at such a young age? It's fucking creepy.

The parents have obviously accepted their child as a girl. They see her every single day, unlike any of us, and they obviously do not see a possibility that their child will all of the sudden one day decide that she wants to join the football team and bang the hot cheerleader.

The most likely scenario is that this person will always see themselves as female. And I know that it might seem strange to start giving a child that age hormones. But I don't think her going through male puberty is a better option. If she is always going to be a woman, why develop muscles and start growing facial hair if it can be avoided?

How could your sexual identity even be determined before you hit puberty? This kid could be a totally different person after it hits puberty. Her parents have said she was a girl since she was a toddler and been treating her as such. How much different do boys or girls act at at 2 years old? The parents are trigger happy about their child's sexual identity and have been trying to manipulate almost since the day she was born. You have no idea what he is going to be in 5 years. Why not wait and see? Why make up your mind at 2 years old and decide they have a gender crisis? Plenty of young boys play with dolls and up dressup a a very young age, and then turn into regular males. What could this child possibly done as a toddler that made them decide he was a she? The child is totally undefined and proves they were trigger happy.

That's perception. Perception can be adapted to suit her body. As a matter of fact: it's the entire "disorder."

Conversely, adapting her body to suit her perception is premature. You wouldn't want to give a ten year old high dosages of steroids if he spent his entire life (ALL TEN YEARS OF IT) wanting to be a professional wrestler. The negative repercussions create a worse situation.

There's no reason to MAKE this happen. Certainly not under public scrutiny.

I knew I was a boy before puberty. Not just because of my body, I just was without a doubt a boy. I didn't need puberty to confirm it. I am guessing It is very unlikely that Jazz would hit puberty and suddenly be more content with the idea of being a boy. By far the most likely scenario is that the changes in her body would make her miserable.

You keep insisting that her parents have some weird agenda to turn their boy into a girl. Here are some quotes from an article about her when she was 6.

From the moment he could speak, Jazz made it clear he wanted to wear a dress. At only 15 months, he would unsnap his onesies to make it look like a dress. When his parents praised Jazz as a "good boy," he would correct them, saying he was a good girl.

The Jennings wanted to believe it would pass. Scott said he "was in a bit of denial" about what Jazz was trying to tell them. After all, even their rowdy twin boys, who are two years older than Jazz, had painted their nails growing up. But Jazz kept gravitating to girl things, insisting that his penis was a mistake.

Troubled by her son's behavior,Renee eventually consulted her copy of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual or DSM-IV, the book used by psychologists and psychiatrists to identify mental disorders. She read the entry for Gender Identity Disorder (GID), with alarming familiarity.

Even Jazz's pediatrician told the Jennings that they had a serious problem on their hands. According to Renee, their doctor said, "'Yes, I believe your child has gender identity disorder, and I recommend that you go to a professional.' And I was -- my mouth opened up and you literally had to scrape me off the floor,"Renee said.

In public, they kept Jazz's look more ambiguous or gender neutral, especially preschool, where he was allowed to put on a pretty top but he had to wear pants. Officially, Jazz remained a boy.

Jazz chafed under that arrangement. He wasn't happy until he could present as a girl both indoors and outdoors. Everyday became a struggle, according to Renee. Finally, a dance recital opened the Jennings' eyes to just how unhappy Jazz was.

Here is the rest of the article:

It doesn't sound anything like a famiy trying to force some innocent boy to be a girl. It sounds like a family that had some difficult choices to make, but chose ultimately to accept their child as they are.

Not buying that a 15 month old corrects his parents, much less knows the difference between boys and girls.

This.

If I had a child that was 15 months old and already back talking me I would take that fucker back and get a new one from the hospital.

That's a trip, he/she seems no different than any other girl her age. Everything about her besides that one body part seems totally feminine.

I know. It's such transparent nonsense. They are insulting our intelligence with this story and could have at least made it sound somewhat believable.

Parents allowing a child to take hormones is weird. Nobody knows what's best for them at 11. At 20 I thought a statement like that was bs but now at 26 I feel it's absolutely true. What if the kid changes his mind later on?

Fair enough, but is that a reason to give the kid hormones? Wait until he's an adult and can legally choose for himself. It must've been a tough call for the parents to make, personally I'd have let nature run its course so to speak.

What if an 11 year old boy felt like he was not as masculine as he was supposed to be, would you or anyone consider it safe to give him testerone? I know you can't compare the two on a gender identity issue, I'm just trying to make the point we shouldn't be giving sex hormones to children.

Bitch-tits.

The boy would grow up to have bitch-tits if he juiced before pooberty.

Wish you were older than 12. Don't pretend your comment is the right way to think. If a child is born with sexual characteristics of a particular gender affirm the gender that matches the parts. God help us. You wish an middle and old age of incontinence? Of not having biological children? Of confusion and scorn and never really fitting in? A future with a higher potential of disease and mental disorders? You think transgendered (such a pop-culture notion) are more qell-adjusted than a slightly effeminate male? Such utter rubbish.

This guy, #1 (not being sarcastic).

I agree with you on the age issue. In general, kids aren't old enough to make decisions that affect the rest of their lives. The meds, though, aren't always irreversible. They use hormone blockers for kids with precocious puberty to delay its onset. I'm not familiar, though, with their use for GID. I assume they delay puberty long enough for the kid to make a more mature decision and then switch over to estrogen or testosterone injections.

They give that shit to racehorses for chrissakes.
