I cant speak for Canada, but the psychiatry industry in America is more dirty and corrupt than you can imagine.

The doctors are all about making money, even at the expense of innocent children.

Its a sick business. They are pushers.

The parents set up a poor environment to prepare the child for Western culture. I understand creating an open environment to grow and blossom, but we all grasp the ill-effects of sheltered children. You've seen it and chances are you either felt sorry or repulsed.

From the articles, it SEEMS like they are pushing for a change in society to adapt to something beyond binary sexual identification. The problem is their children, not they, bear the weight of this "movement."

Agreed. I have no problem with transgender people or think it is wrong in any way. But this seems like exploitation in the true spirit of the word. They pressured her at very young age, and are using her as a tool to push their agenda.

It doesn't seem like she's actually lacking sexual identity though? I didn't read through the thread, but she claimed to be a girl mentally and be attracted to boys in the video. If that's the case, what would be the deterrent for surgery?

How much of a man would you feel like if you couldn't perform?

Without sexual gratification, the lack will cause frustration and thereby reinforce the disparity in identity established by her negative encounters. As stupid as it may sound: in order to live somewhat of a balanced life as a girl, she's gotta keep dat dingaling.

I find it bizarre that people get worked up about this. It's like people can't handle the fact that some people are different. The idea of people being transgendered isn't completely new. They have been doing gender reassignment surgery for a while now. This little girl has been living as a girl for years now. If she was going to change her mind about this it would have happened by now. This isn't something like a child wanting to be an astronaut when they grow up. Gender is a basic part of your identity. Her family and I assume doctors are obviously convinced this isn't some passing fad.

So what should a family do? Let their child become the person they want to be? Or is it better for them to force their child to to against what comes natural to them "Sorry, you can't have have the hair the way you want. You can't wear the clothes you want. You can't play with the toys that you like. Now shut up and be a good boy".

Most families would try to force their child to conform to what is expected. Most families would be worried about what small minded people would think and therefore crush what made their child who they are. Thankfully, she isn't in one of those families.

You're the small-minded one here. Why didnt you read the rest of my post? I took the time to treat you like an intellectual equal. You are insane that society has any place to mess with the gender of a child.

We don't know what all was going on in that home. Maybe the mom was wanting a girl extremely bad. Or maybe she went through extreme post-pregnancy depression (extremely common). Maybe she got the kid dressing up in girl clothes and having tea-parties with dolls. Something any boy could do and be fine with. You have no clue.

This whole thing is implicitly and explicitly wrong and abhorrent with zero doubt - there's no middle ground or complexity to the situation.
