I think you are correct on sports (I mentioned way earlier in thread) and I think the speech thing is overdramatized, but the prisons topic is interesting.

I haven't put enough thought into that situation tbh. Part of me instinctually thinks "whatever is less rate of violence" but that also opens up abuse, but of course people also abuse religious services with questionable faith, so idk tbh.

BOP decision feels like what it would end up being policy-wise, but I have to be honest that I'm not 100% sure how I feel here.

There have been several cases where trans prisoners have impregnated female prisoners. That cannot be allowed.

For sure. 100% agree.

But there are always shades of grey and the non-binaries will intentionally blur lines lol.

And are we really thinking a guy is going to go through the trouble of getting dressed up to rape someone, but won't put the effort in to shave lol? The hypothetical feels so niche lol.

But regardless, I def agree with you in practice. I just don't see how it can realistically be implemented when it comes to public policy.

So if it's so niche, you should have no problem banning or being against it.

Sorry for being obtuse, but I'm not sure what you mean here.

I am against bathroom bills because I don't understand how we can implement them in reality.

I am definitely against rapists lol.

Imagine in Canada going to Prison over wrong pronouns when the majority of the potlicans in Canada dont even use the pronouns..

Not shaming after 447 pages lol, but we found out a few pages back in the thread that misgendering alone actually isn't criminalized in CA.

In the Criminal Code, which does not reference pronouns, Cossman says misusing pronouns alone would not constitute a criminal act.

“The misuse of gender pronouns, without more, cannot rise to the level of a crime,” she says. “It cannot rise to the level of advocating genocide, inciting hatred, hate speech or hate crimes … (it) simply cannot meet the threshold.”

You can't enforce bathroom bills because it's impossible to implement unless you have a security guard at every bathroom.

But we can change what is socially acceptable and the policies at places like gyms.

Something like this should not be allowed. Full man shaving in the women's bathroom at Planet Fitness.

Misgendering isn't criminalized but you get fired and socially ostracized if you do. Getting fired is just as bad as something being criminalized.

I get legit trans people that want to live as the other sex, but all the nonbinary gender fluid people are a whole different beast. They're entitled narcissists. They/them/ze/zir can go fuck themselves.

It's not allowed. It's against policy to shave in the restrooms at planet fitness src

Idk if the trans person actually got reprimanded for it, but apparently PF follows them every time they are in the gym so feels like they did.

And I'm okay with that.

Punish the trans person for sure imo, but idk policy-wise, if shaving once is as bannable an offense as say, filming in the restroom.

Every single case I've seen of somone getting fired though isn't someone accidentally misgendering a bearded man, it's when they are consistently harassing people about it.

Again, it's not illegal or I wouldn't get fired for accidentally saying "Michael" instead of "Michelle" and immediately correcting myself, but if I show up every day and call some lady Michael instead of Michelle, she will have a valid HR complaint.

It's not the shaving that's the problem. It's the being clearly a man in the women's bathroom.

Not using ze/zir/they/them pronouns is not a valid PR complaint. It's not grammatically correct and ze/zir is a made up word.

The extreme left just sealed the election for the right. Good job morons.

The newly elected Labour party in the UK are moving to PERMANENTLY ban puberty blockers!

Fucking yes!

I only voted for them coz they were the only party who outwardly said they didn't want 'trans women' in womens spaces. Looks like I backed the right horse.

I agree with the decision, but there are legit medical cases where it's needed. When kids go into precocious puberty at like age 5.

I'm sure those cases will be judged on merit, and should be.

One of my favorite fighters of all time and he seems like a good dude overall but he fucked up by not being there as a father and letting his 4 year old spend countless hours on a tablet at that age. That shit is crazy, the internet can radicalize people and a parent needs to step in and monitor usage.

Yeah that's what they're doing. They're just banning puberty blockers for gender transition reasons in kids under 16.

An independent review has confirmed that puberty blockers have no impact on suicide rates.

The UK recently banned puberty blockers for children who say they are trans. This prompted activists to claim that it would result in mass suicides. However, no increase in the suicide rate has occurred.

Why are most in the trans community against this? Is it because you're going to look much more like the gender you identify with if you start early?

Doesn't matter if they're against it, it's not happening anymore and that's that!
