Shooting spree beckons.

I think Strychnine may have a Nerf gun available.
it would appear as though Walmart didn’t want to honor their preorders at the original $24.97 price point (a lot of people on reddit also had their preorders canceled randomly) because the figure is now available on their website suddenly, but for $29.97

I was a bit surprised at Amazon UK tbh . I got the ML Thanos and Psylocke pack for £30 or $40 pre-order. Delivery due mid August.

Get an email from Amazon " blah blah... delivery now due September..."

Oh , right , here we go....I know what's happening....

No I don't, a couple of days later there's a demand for the money from Amazon but no communication from them..

A day later I'm advised that my parcel will be ready for collection the next day ...

So it was a few days late but they honoured the price and didn't cancel the order ...

I was a bit surprised TBH.

So, @Tone C had the animal right, just the wrong occupation. I bring you Steampunk Detective Owl!!!!!

Brand: PINJIMU
Name: Detective Owl
Pieces: 1286
Cost: $44.99 on Amazon (got it for $33.99 on sale and used a coupon).

I seriously love this thing. Like really really really love this. There are a few spots that could you some shoring up (the building, and the wings could use a bit more stability), but this is a great set. There weren't any stickers at all which surprised me.

The directions were pretty good, but the booklet was bent up when they stuffed everything in the box. It was put together in three stages - body, head, and base - but I put the base together first just to make sure I had somewhere to hold the model as I was building it.

Even though most of the colors are brown tones, they really come together well, and it looks colorful without being really bright. They used some really cool techniques - especially the hat and the bandolier. The pipe is such a cool touch.

I wasn't missing any pieces, and they actually sent some replacements since the colors were off on a few and two others didn't fit right. Great quality control there. The block are a bit softer than some of the sets I've build recently but everything fit together fine. There are quite a few unique pieces that I've never seen before.

I can't say enough good things about this. Just need to figure out where to display it.

Overall an 11/10.

You want pictures? You got pictures!

Detective Retro reporting for duty! The base has so many cool little details like the rats and the puddles. The fact that all the pieces are printed instead of stickers was so nice.

I dig the little arm badge.

Owl Left.jpg

It's kinda cool that the sides aren't symmetrical.

Owl Right.jpg

Not a whole lot going on in the back, but you can see some of the little connection chains and tubs.

A close up of the pipe.

Rushed to walmart.com to try to order Marvel Legends '77 Spider-Man live action TV show figure, and even after putting enough stuff in cart for free shipping and just by itself, location surcharge w/shipping would have made it cost an extra $21-$22, so decided I don't want it badly enough to pay $50+. Thanks for nothing Hasbro Marvel Legends team.

Maybe it'll end up sold by Amazon as seller like the 80th Alex Ross Thor, Ironman, Capt Am did, I think, or at least Gamestop also had them at some later point.

Looks great but it costs like $67 here !!!!!

He arrived today along with 2 omnibus editions of Doctor Who books by my favourite author of them .

Tomorrow I'm at a smallish toy fair and next Saturday at a Comic Con and a Lego con with the other couple of nerds I went to London with.

I may have seen this MOTU Thundercats crossover Lion-O at Target. Looked close enough to only Thundercats, so might buy if the price is right. Wouldn't try to collect all the Thundercats characters though.

EDIT: Watched a really good review of this and they really put thought into being able to dismantle the arms, waist, hair, ankles, etc. to swap on the classic Lion-O look. Only complaint is the face is bleh. Will try to rewatch the original cartoon and work up the fever to buy this maybe at regular price. Also hyped up to dig out the He-Man and Skeletor short legs figures I bought in store at Walmart years ago but didn't open. No idea if those were MOTU Origins.

Masterverse version here.^

Valaverse is having a Labor Day sale.

"Hello Valaverse Fans,

Yes, we are definitely having a Labor Day sale on Valaverse.com. However, why make it just one day? Let’s make it a Labor Day weekend sale. The sale will begin this Saturday, August 30th at 12:00am EST and go through Monday, September 1st until 11:59pm EST. Just like our previous sales, we will be doing a tiered discount. Any order $99 and under will receive 15% off. Any order $100-$299 will receive 20% off and any order of $300 or more will receive 30% off!!! There is NO discount code needed as the percentages will come off automatically on each order. This is good on all in-stock items on Valaverse.com. There is no limit on the number of orders you place.

In addition, we just threw some new freebies up on Valaverse.com. If you’ve ever had any issues with hands or just need a few more, we’ve got you covered. There are three different sets of male hands that are available, flesh, black gloved and green gloved. Each set comes with 8 hands (trigger, c-grip, fists & combat grip). These sets are FREE!!! You can go grab them now or just add them to a future order…maybe a Labor Day sale order. Each hand set will have a limit of 2 per customer.

We hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy the Labor Day sale.

It’s Time for Action!"

Got my Doom Slayer in. Faux fur cape and that razor-shield is a great accessory!

War Machine AND Omega Red??!! Two of my favorite characters in one package?!?! COME ON MANNNN!

I have no idea where my comic-book box background went, but I snagged this hot rod wrecker.

Snagged "Stylo" Ren's Tie Silencer from my Wal-Mart run.

This came in earlier (I posted it up the thread) but I got the chance to remove the shipping boxes and photograph it. This box is HUUUUUUGGGEE! When I was 16, I bought the original for my nephew for Christmas. I always thought that I'd get one, but when I saw those prices on Ebay?!?!

Yeah, it wasn't happening. But when the Haslab dropped, I had to pop.

Now, I'm waiting on them to release a Night-Raven!

I'm sorry, is that some sort of knock off or fake or something? I'm confused because the SW films ended with Return of The Jedi and there were no films chronologically after that although they did make 3 okayish prequels.

Well, did the toy fair and came away with a Conan the Barbarian comic for $4.50 ISH.

Last of the big spenders .

A few bits of interest but nothing that made me go " Yes!" Got semi excited (!) over seeing a Marvel Legends Kingpin retro style and started to move towards it when I spotted it was a Toy Biz version and I was deflated...

Some ML but nothing I haven't already got or not fussed by. Saw a ML retro Lizard but didn't go back for it .

Still, comic con and Lego next week and it leaves me with more cash for that ...

Phase 2 of the big weekend: Wisconsin's Number 1 vintage toy store was having 15 percent off everything in the store, so I took the hour drive to snag some gold:

Giant NECA Shredder. She-ra horse (not Swiftwind), MODAK, Zangief, E, Honda, A derpy Mario, Rocky Balboa (limited edition), 1983ish Ms Pac Man PVC, NECA Baxter Stockman and a Frog thing from Savage Dungeon I believe. The frog was a random pick up.

They had a Wonderbread He-man for 2200 and the LJN White shirt Hogan, but his paint was rough for the 150 price tag.

Has there been any new leaks on Marvel Legends particularly a new X-Men 97 Cyclops? I'd like to know if the classic John Byrne Cyclops will be single released so I won't have to buy a two pack with Jean Grey.

Any ideas on headswap donor for Sunspot on the New Mutants uniform?

I was watching the show "Collector's Call", hosted by Lisa Wiechel on the MEtV channel. She travels the U.S. and checks out someone's toy/video game/pop culture collection and brings along a toy expert to appraise the collection. The episode I just watched a collector had the above toy in his collection. It was NRFB (Never Removed From Box).

The expert valued it at $5,000. My first car cost that much.
