Social Toy Collectors Thread

I found out there is a button I had to click to make the tool bar available (on mobile). I didn't have any issues on my laptop. I think the new update just changed a setting is all.

I still blame you.

OK, let's do this!

Brand: HIGH GODO
Name: Guan Yu
Pieces: 1408 (plus about another 120 for the stand)
Price: $49.99 on Amazon (got it for $42 with tax).

The colors were the first thing that drew me to this mech. I love the gold and green. The few spots of red really break it up nicely.

There weren't any stickers at all which was a nice change of pace.

This came with a really nice stand, but there's an issue with putting the mech on it. To attach the mech, you have to remove the skirting. Unless you're trying for an action pose, the mech stands in it's own easily.

The weapon looks pretty cool and is very sturdy, but it is so top heavy there is no way it can be held point up.

The dragon head pauldron looks amazing.

They did something new with the fingers on the right hand by making them triple jointed like a normal finger. It is a bit weird that it is only on the right hand though.

Overall this was really well designed and is pretty sturdy. All the pieces went together well and I didn't have any issues with pieces getting bumped off.

Solid 9 outta 10. Had the weapon been better designed this probably would have been a 10.

Now for pictures!

Dr. Pepper bottle for size comparison (or I just didn't move it).

The glaive. If it wasn't so damn top heavy this would be amazing.

1000007046.jpg

The stand. This is really well built.

1000007047.jpg

The back. To fit on the stand the two skirting pieces would have to come off.

1000007048.jpg

Close up of the dragon. The picture really doesn't do it justice.

OK, next up we have one that was a complete and total pain in the ass to build but turned out really cool.

I had never done a "2 in 1" set and wanted to see how it would go. I nearly shattered this thing more than once.

Since this can be 2 different shapes, I've got to do 2 separate posts in order to get all the pictures in.

Brand: HSANHE
Name: Transforming Eagle Mech
Pieces: 587
Price: $19.99 on Amazon.

So this doesn't "transform" but you can build 2 different shapes - but you take one apart to make the other. Fun times...

So I decided to build the eagle first and I'm glad I did.

There were tons of stickers, I can't even remember how many. They were decent quality and fairly easy to reposition if needed.

The piece count is slightly misleading since some of the pieces are specific to each build.

I actually love the way the eagle turned out, but it REALLY needs a stand since the legs aren't sturdy enough to hold it up.

The wings were interesting to put together but some of the joints are too lose to pose very well.

The neck is off somehow in my opinion. Maybe too long. I do like the face and how the colors came together.

For only $20 I think this would be a decent price for just this form, but since you can also make a mech the value is great. I'm actually debating getting another just to have one of each.

Overall I'd say the eagle is probably a 6.5 out of 10. If it had a stand or way to display it better the rating would go up.

Now... PICTURES!!!

Eagly!

Another side shot. The wings want to fold back which looks weird.

Eagle Mech part 2! The mech.

OK, taking the eagle apart to build the mech SUCKED! Such a pain in the ass. The good news is the mech went together much easier than the eagle.

One thing I forgot to mention in the eagle post that made putting it together was there are TEN colors and the brown/black and tan/orange were really hard to tell apart in the manual.

I really like how the mech turned out. The white and browns give it quite a different look than usual.

There are some parts that like to try and pop off when posing l, specifically the black smaller "feathers" (this was a huge problem on the wings of the eagle).

It's pretty stable and while a stand would be nice, it stands on its own without any issues.

The swords are both pretty cool, but again the "wings" fall off easily. The hole they go in just isn't deep enough.

I like this probably more than I should since it was such a pain to put together and has the issues with parts wanting to fall off. But it just looks so unique with the colors and design.

Overall I think 6.5 out of 10 is still the right call, with both together maybe a 7 outta 10. It only being $20 really helps.

And now.... PICTURES!!

Eagly Mech form.

1000007057.jpg

Back. Tons of details... that want to fall off.

the new SHF Spidey Noir (w/ Ham) is a great looking figure & has pretty great articulation for posing, but my good gawd the lack of accessories given the price tag is highway robbery

After trying the 2 in 1 build I decided I really wanted to try one of the truly transformable mechs. There was a company doing knock off Star Wars spaceship ones and I thought, what the hell.

Brand: Semky
Name: Space Series Laser Spacecraft (it's the Millenium Falcon)
Pieces: 673
Price: $29.99 on Amazon (got it for $23.99 with coupon).

So first off, this does transform without completely having to take it apart. There are a few parts that need to be popped off and then back on, mainly the two wrist guns. It isn't the most intuitive thing to do, but the booklet does show you how it's done.

This came with a stand which is GREAT since you need it for the spaceship for sure, and this is one that is kind of fun to put into action poses.

It came with about 20 stickers, including some huge ass ones for the back panel.

I think the colors are a bit bland, with only some orange (not a fan of), gunmetal, and translucent blue to help break up the predominantly light grey. I think if the orange was switched to black or dark gray (maybe even more of the gunmetal gray) it would have looked a bit better.

The shoulder mounted rocket launchers and the big laser cannon on the left arm (that's what I'm calling it anyways) look pretty dang cool.

The spaceship is kinda meh in my opinion. I don't like the huge gaps when looking at it from above. The head can actually be hidden, I just missed that step.

The piece quality was decent and I wasn't missing any. I did break on trying to turn the head as I was writing this and messing around with it, but that was just me being a dumbass and an easy enough replacement. Pretty much everything is on ball sockets and it does have plenty of ways it can be posed. No issues with the joints being too tight or too loose.

This was an ok build, but nothing I would go out of my way for to collect any of the others (they have an X-Wing and another ship in the series).

Overall I'd say this was maybe a 6 outta 10. Worth the $25, but nothing to get super excited about.

Pictures:

Basic front pose. It's pretty tall with the rocket launchers.

Next up is the "generic" brand mech I decided to buy that didn't include the original box. I was a bit skeptical when I first purchased it, but I have to admit I was very very very wrong. This thing is maybe my favorite build, or close to it.

Brand: Generic
Name: Mechanical Armor Super Warrior Dragon Tiger God Beast. I think I'm going to call him Samsonov
Pieces: 2168 (yes, that's a lot)
Price: $39.80 on Amazon (got for $36.62 with discount)

This bad boy has a lot going on, as the piece count might indicate. It didn't come with a stand which would have been pretty cool because I would love to be able to pose it better. I was missing 2 pieces, but had a replacement for one and with so much going on it's hard to tell where the other one is.

There were quite a few stickers, but not nearly as many as I would have guessed. Good quality and easy to apply. They also really help add to the figure.

All of the joints work well without being too tight or too loose. This has the pistons at the ankles which I love. The torso only shifts from side to side on dual ball and sockets. They made it so the pauldrons are easy to move out of the way when posing the arms, which isn't something that always is the case. The head can be a little finicky since it's all built out of smaller pieces, but that's a minor complaint.

The base white with the gold accents is great, but it's the baby blue and translucent pieces that I think make this look so damn cool. I'm also a sucker for using a tiger head look for the chest.

Being able to change up the weapon configuration is awesome. Single spear, spear and sword, or dual swords. Being able to attach the swords to the waist is a nice touch. All three are well designed to not be too heavy and still be solid.

There are a few spots were some pieces like to try and come lose, but not nearly as bad as I wasn't fearing when I first saw the pictures. I might glue them later on.

This was really fun to build, and the directions were good. The value was definitely there.

Overall I have to say this is easily an 11 outta 10!

Here, take a peek!

Front with a basic pose. Giving everyone the ole Steve Austin #1.

Left side. Once again the stickers really add to it. Good shot of what the swords look like.

The Back. A lot of times the back is left pretty bare, but here you get the translucent thrusters, the shoulder pieces and a tail.

haven't bought any dolls lately, i'm a cheap bitch if we're being honest, and haven't been able to justify $40 on something that's just gonna sit on the shelf buttttt i got some amazon gift cards and after buying up everything else i wanted, i noticed that these dolls had gone on sale so ithought, what the heck, yanno?

been eyeing this one for however long she's been out, could be a year now. but didnt want to spend $50 on her, especially since she has no wrist articulation. but still found her so beautiful (i do not intend to "color and create" her lol). i'm thinking she'd be cute in the dress i just thrifted, or one of the other many extra outfits that i have for rainbow/shadow high.

anyways, was on sale for $30, best i can hope for here:

Screenshot 2025-08-24 232225.png

this is a newer release from monster high. tbh theres a few new monster high dolls i wouldnt mind having, even eyed up the corpse bride at $100 lol, but decided on this one. she was on sale for $34.

Screenshot 2025-08-24 232351.png

she looks like a cool bitch, no?

both expected on thursday.

Went to a huge car boot sale today , I think you guys have similar where people sell from a table alongside their car the old stuff they don't want...

Wasn't much going on initially, saw some Monster High dolls but they were too pricey imo for unboxed dolls so I skipped them . Not much interesting stuff until I got towards the end...

Found this

s-l1200 (1).webp

For around $6 , colour isn't faded on the one I got.

s-l1200.webp

These for about $3.50. no idea what they were but they were cheap and nerdy ...mini Funko pops , Annabelle , The Nun and Regan . Cute but horrible, love them .

17 copies of Marvel Dazzler from the early 80s .

15 copies of Namor The Sub-Mariner from 1990.

Didn't see a single Marvel Legends figure or similar. A few Star Wars boarded figures and lots of the large 12 Marvel/ SW figures and several Funko .

Best part of the day was the girl selling the Dazzler comics asked what I collected etc and after chatting to her she said her sister has a stall in a local antiques shop/ emporium selling Marvel and similar comics and nerd stuff which I was totally unaware of and she has a stall in another emporium which I was aware of, so I'm off work tomorrow so will pay it a visit . Even better is it's 45 seconds walk from my first choice nerd place ....

Anyone ever seen some sort of cool way to hang multiple 1/72 fighter jet plastic models where they are all like hanging from one metal wire hanger? Preferably works with the underside's slot for the normal fin flight stands.

I want to hang a YF-22, Harrier, F-5 or F-20 I forget, F-2 (Japanese F-16). F-35 and Rafale not completed yet.

This is how @Strychnine displays his model planes...

And I went food shopping today....

Picked up a lot of heavily discounted kids toys and dropped them off at the neighbours. 3 nice kids who are always friendly.

Saw a Blastoise

7625622_R_Z001A.webp

Also heavily discounted to about $3 so picked it up. Whilst I like Pokémon I may give it away as it isn't really anything I collect or am passionate about...

And Lego Rocket Racoon and Gamerverse Thanos and Psylocke turned up today.

Get a spool of some thin fishing line. A spool will be more than you need for hanging your models. It's what I used to do as a kid.

I googled it and there's a ton of advice on various model forums and Reddit ( I know, I know ) .

Oh , and I picked up a copy of Micronauts and 8 copies of ROM from the shop I visited today too .

And I know that's comics , not toys but the comics came from the toy lines so I figured it's acceptable...
